APPREHENSIONS, PERSONS FOUND, ETC.

Auckland. — Thomas Rowe, wife - desertion : Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1910, page 191.)

Auckland. Thomas Rowe, failing to provide his children with adequate means of support: Warrant cancelled. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 325.)

Papakura. — T. or Thomas Bentley, alias William B. Willoughby, alias Tom Whiteley, alias Charles William Riley, alias Eli, false pretences on Gavin McMurray, has been arrested by Constable A. Leckie, Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1911, pages 285 and 301.)

Huntly. — Horace Murphy, default of fine and costs, has been arrested by Detective Cox, Auckland police, on information supplied by Constable Christiansen, Auckland police. Amount paid. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 191.)

Te Karaka. — Bert Simpson, playing “ two-up ” has been served with a summons by Detectives Powell and Hollis, Auckland police. He is also known as Bert Ambrose Simson. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 241.)

Gisborne. William Henry Mann, failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation, has reported himself to the Waipiro Bay police, and his arrest is no longer desired. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 273.)

Dannevirke.— Thomas Aitken, breach of the LicensingAct, has paid the fine and costs to Constable Waugh, Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 23.)

Wanganui.— Margaret Cleaver, alias Ingram, alias “ Scotch Mag,” assaulting Eva Daisy Peters, has been arrested by Detective Cox and Acting-Detective J. H. Sweeney, Auckland police. She had assumed the name Nellie Douglas. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 129.)

Wellington.— Alfred William Ponting, default of maintenance, has been arrested by Acting-Detectives Snow and Osborne, Christchurch police, on information supplied by Constable Doyle, Mount Cook (Wellington) police. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 56.)

Christchurch. —Thomas Oakley, alias Holder, default of maintenance, has been arrested by Sergeant Rowell, Auckland police, on information supplied by Constable John Quinn, Christchurch police. (See Police Gazette, 1909, pages 182 and 475.)

Christchurch. — Cecil Herbert Jeffries and Edwin Clarke, false pretences, have been arrested by Detective Cox and Acting-Detective Cullen, Auckland police. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 286.)

Lincoln.— Thomas Henry Apps, deserter from Burnham ludustrial School, has been arrested by Detective Cassells, Wellington police, and returned to the school. He had assumed the name Jack Smith. (See Police Gazette, 1906, page 392, 1909, pages 397 and 425, and 1910, page 443.)

Lincoln. — Benjamin Armstrong, an absconder from Burnham Industrial School: Arrest no longer desired. (See Police Gazette, 1908, page 297.)

Akaroa. — William Gill, default of fine and costs, has been arrested by Constable Brown, Masterton police. Amount paid. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 130.)

Dunedin. — Charles Chisnal, breaking and entering the foundry of Walker, Marriage, and Co. : Warrant cancelled. Offender has been sentenced to three years' reformative treatment for thefts committed at Christchurch. (See Police Gazette, 1911, pages 192 and 286.)

Sydney, — William John Richards, deserter from H.M.S. “ Penguin,” has been arrested at Sydney, and handed over to the Naval authorities. (See Police Gazette, 1910, page 509.)
