Auckland,—3lst January last, on warrant for obscene language, James Pelly, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. in,, seaman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, rad hair, light-hazel eyes, flat broken nose. He has been frequently convicted. (See Police Gazette , 1910, page 504.)

Auckland.— 3lst October last, on warrant of commitment to Mount Eden Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 10s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, Thomas Gavin, age fifty-one, height 5 ft. sJin., sailor, native of England, medium build, dark hair

and complexion, blue eyes, star tatiooed on back of right hand, flower-pot on right forearm, profusely tattooed on body and legs.

Karangahake. —Bbh ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £53 18s. flue and costs for keeping liquor for sale in a nolicense district, Robert Harrison, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., miner a,nd labourer, native of England, medium build, slightly bow-legged, pale complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, elean-shaved, prominent nose; usually dresses well in dark-tweed suit and black hard hat; expectorates almost constantly. If located, information to be forwarded to the Inspector’s Office, Thames, that a notice of fine may be served before execution of the warrant of commitment.

Napier. —lst instant, that summonses may be served on him for breaches of his prohibition order, Albert Austin, age thirty-five, height about 5 ft. BJin., tailor, dark complexion and hair, dark moustache and eyes, medium build; dressed in dark clothes ; respectable appearance. He is supposed to be making towards Wellington.

Foxton. —3oth November last, on warrant for perjury, Pingi Tahu (known as Brownie), age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7Jin., labourer, a Maori, medium active build, copper complexion, clean-shaved, black curly hair, speaks English well; usually wears a dark suit and black cap.

Wanganui.— 22nd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Palmerston North Prison for thirty days in default of paying £7 2s. 6d. arrears due up to the Bth ultimo for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, Archibald Dick, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 4 in. or 5 in., stableman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, clean-shaved, long narrow face, low forehead, large blue eyes, dark auburn hair, bow-legged; dressed in blue suit and hard black bat. He was ordered to pay 7s. 6d. a week towards the support of his child, of which Ada Ivy Elizabeth Smith is the mother, but has failed to do so.

Wellington. —4th or sth ultimo, on warrant for theft of 25 yd. tweed, value £6 2s. 6d., the property of Francis Kitto, tailor, David Irwin, age forty, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and seaman, native of Ireland, fair hair, blue eyes, broad nose, usually clean-shaved except medium fair moustaohe, dragon, two roses, &c., tattooed on right arm. (See Police Gazette, 1904, page 182, 1906, page 236, and 1907, page 106.) Detective Lewis and Acting Detective Andrews recovered 3J yd. of the tweed from a man named Henry Waters, who stated it was given to him by offender, who has left Wellington. If arrested, every effort to be U3ed to obtain possession of the tweed or trace it if sold. (For description of the tweed see Police Gazette, 1911, page 79.)

Wellington. —Bth instant, that she may be compelled to contribute towards the support of her child, an inmate of the Wellington Receiving Home, Mary Crowley, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 2 in., domestic, native of Ireland, medium build, dark hair and complexion, dark-blue eyes ; wears spectacles. On 10th October, 1908, her address was care Mrs. George, Paparangi, Johnsonville. (See Police Gazette, 1909, page 97.)

Wellington.—Bth instant, on warrant for being absent without leave from the s.s. “ Tongariro,” C. Hearn, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 10in., fireman, native of England, fair hair and moustache, strong build. A reward of £2 is offered for his apprehension.

Wellington.— 7th instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, William Thomas, age thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in., labourer and farmer, native of Australia, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes. Complainant, Florence Astridge, Levin.

Wellington. —4th instant, that she may be compelled to contribute towards the support of her child, an inmate of the Wellington Receiving Home, Elsie Pauline Watson, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 2in., domestic, native of Australia, slight build, fair complexion, dark hair, brown eyes ; wears glasses. On the 10th May, 1907, she was ordered to pay ss. a week for the support of her child, and on the 6th instant she was in arrears £4B 10s. (See Police Gazette, 1908, page 440.)

Nelson. —lst instant, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court to pay ss. a week for the support of his wife, Sarah Orr, Eric Orr, age about forty-six, height 5 ft. Bin., labourer, supposed native of Scotland, medium strong build, fair hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache, top front teeth broken, slightly bow-legged. Photograph filed in the Inspector’s Office, Wellington. He was recently living with some Maoris near Hawera, and was gring under the name of Charles Wilson. He has a brother, Charles Orr, a carpenter, living in Newtown, Wellington, and a sister, Mrs. Reeves, at Brooklyn, Wellington.

Westport. —l9th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a goldnugget pin (recovered), value 13s. 6d., the property of James Cook, labourer, William Rodgers, age twenty-four, height sft. Bin., hawker and theatrical agent, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, long dark hair (parted in centre), clean-shaved, slight build ; dressed in dark-greenish suit. He has been in Fuller’s and other companies, but has recently been hawking poli.-hing-paste.

Westport.— 2Bth ultimo, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court to pay towards the support of his wife, Lily Fitzgibbon, £1 a week, John Joseph Fitzgibbon, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., miner, native of Ireland, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes; generally wears dark suit. When he left he was £lO in arrears. He is supposed to be accompanied by a woman going under the name of Mary Penrose or Mrs. Boyle, age about thirty-five, stout strong build, brown hair, pale complexion ; neat appearance. She has relations at Ngahere, near Greymouth. Photographs of offender and woman filed in the Inspector’s Office, Greymouth. They will probably travel together as man and wife.

Christchurch.—llth instant, that he may be interviewed and steps taken to compel his attendance as a witness in the case Rex v. Saddler and Jack charged with murder, Liyell Hanssen, age twenty-eight to thirty, height about sft. 5 in.,

wharf labourer, native of Lyttelton, New Zealand, medium build, swarthy complexion, dark-brown hair, clean-shaved except dark moustache ; dressed in dirty blue suit and harp hat; looks like a fireman or sailor ; dirty appearance.

Christchurch. —2nd instant, that ho may be induced to pay off arrears due for the maintenance of his three children in the Christchurch Receiving Home, Alfred Richardson (may go under the name of Evans), age forty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, walks very erect, and swings his arms when walking. He left the Addington Workshops about five years ago for Auckland, but no trace of him can be obtained since.

Lyttelton. —27th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for seven days in default of paying £1 9s. fine and costs for a breach of the peace, James McKinnon, age thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in., seaman, native of Scotland, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, nose crooked.

Timaru.— Between 11th and 17th January last, on warrant for theft of a child’s clothing, value £2, the property of Arthur Grafton Kimber, labourer, Charlotte Jane Kimber, age forty, medium height, native of New Zealand, thin features, dark hair and eyebrows ; dressed in grey costume. She has her daughter, Lucy Maria, age eleven, with her. She is believed to have cleared out, taking the child with her to Australia, accompanied by a man named Joseph Franklin, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. Bin., labourer, small features, small ginger moustache, dark hair; dressed in blue suit. Accused is the wife of complainant, living apart from him.

Timaru. —23rd ultimo, on warrant for theft of a pair of dark-tweed trousers and vest, value £2, the property ot * PERCY McGLYNN, and a pair of nearly new lace-up boots, size 9, value £1 55., the property of JAMES MERCER, Edwards, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, fair hair and complexion, clean-shaved, square build, round features. He is supposed to be identical with Frank Meagher, a Burnham boy who absconded from school on the Bth ultimo. Offender shared a bedroom with complainants at No. 53 Maori Hill, and were all employed at the freezing-works.

Dunedin. —lst instant, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court to pay 2s. 63. a week for the maintenance of his child, an inmate of Caversham Industrial School, Adam Edgar, age forty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., porter, station cook, and labourer, native of Scotland, fair hair and moustache, blue eyes, impediment in speech, medium build, hair turning grey; fond of drink. The order was made in 1900, and on the 27th April, 1909, he was in arrears £l4 12s. 6d.

Dunedin. —2nd instant, for indecently assaulting Annore May Wilson, a school-girl, six years of age, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-eight, height about 5 ft. 8 in., supposed labourer, medium build, hair inclined to be red, cleanshaved, two or three days’ growth of red hair on face; dressed in dark suit, and was wearing a black hard hat stamped “ Herbert Haynes and Co., Invercargill,” on inside, and the letters “E. R. A.” No warrant.

Outram. — 14th ultimo, that a summons may be served on him for procuring liquor during the currency cf his prohibition order, Benjamin Wise, age forty-one, height sft. Bin., labourer, native of Scotland, medium build, dark hair, fair complexion, grey eyes. (See Police Gazette, 1910, page 492, and 1911, pages 38 and 54.)

Gore.— Between the 12th and 19th January last, on warrant for keeping liquor for sale, Charles George Thurston, alias Butters, age sixty-one, height 5 ft. 7Jin., agent and farmer, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair turning grey, short-clipped ginger beard (may now be clean-shaved) ; wears spectacles, and pretends that he is short-sighted ; cunning smile when look ing at any one ; dressed in grey saddle-tweed sac suit and hard black-felt hat; always carries a walking-stick.
