(From Gazette, 1911, pages 893 and 895.) Lake If ayes, Queenstown, to be a Sanctuary for Imported and Native Game. ISLINGTON, Governor. P URSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, John Poynder DicksonPoynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the fresh-water lake known as Lake Hayes, near Queenstown, Wakatipu, and an area half a mile in width surrounding the said lake, shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area. As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven. D. BUDDO, Minister of Internal Affairs.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Wairarapa.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “ the said Act”), I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in that part of the Wellington Acclimatization District comprised in the County of Featherston (excepting that portion of the said county lying to the westward of the Wellington-Napier Railway line, and. also excepting therefrom the area described in the First Schedule hereto), and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS. 1. Red-deer stags may be taken or killed within the abovementioned part of the Wellington Acclimatization District from the Ist day of April, 1911, bo the 15th day of May, 1911 (both days inclusive). 2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Wellington, and the Postmasters at Masterton, Carterton, Grey town, Featherston, and Martinborough, on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Aot and these regulations: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person. 3. No licensee shall take or kill more than four stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points. 4. No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever ; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him. 5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof. 6. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine nob exceeding £2O. First Schedule. All that area of land in the Huangarua Survey District, in the Counties of Featherston and Wairarapa South, being Sections 29 to 41 (inclusive), 59, 71, 72, 75, 79, 83, 90, 93, 97, 98; and part of Sections 70, 74, 78, 82, 86, 89, 92, 91, 94, 95, 96, 87, and 84, now in the occupation of Mr. John Ma-rtin and Mr. Featherston Johnston, and known as the Puruatanga Estate or Station.

Second Schedule. No. License to take or kill Game (Deer). , of , having this day paid tho sum of £ , is hereby authorized to take or kill reddeer stags, of not less than points, within the County of Featherston, in the Wellirigion Acclimatization District, except in Lhe areas described in the indorsement hereon, from the day of , 1911, to the day of , 1911 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regulations thereunder in force within the said district. Dated at , this day of , 1911. Chief Postmaster.

Stratford Acclimatization District appointed. ISLINGTON, Governor. IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint those parts of the said Dominion, being all that area comprised in the Counties of Stratford and Whangamornona, together with the Borough of Stratford, to be a district under and for the purposes of the said Act, and

I do hereby declare that such district shall be known as the “ Stratford Acclimatization District.” As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven. D. BUDDO, Minister of Internal Affairs.

Inspector of Factories appointed. Department of Labour, Wellington, 7th March, 1911. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Constable Henry Anderson to be an Inspector under the Factories Act, 1908. The appointment is dated the 24th day of February, 1911. J. A. Clerk of Magistrate's Court appointed. Department of Justice, Wellington, Bth March, 1911. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Constable Joseph James Goulding to be Clerk of the Magistrate’s Court at Culverden, from the 20th day of February, 1911, vice Constable A. S.
