Auckland. —On or about 21st* ultimo, on warrant for theft of a portmanteau and coptmats, the property of Arthur Frederick Barrell, teacher, Wellington, Frederick James Symons, alias Thompson, alias James, age twentv-six, height 5 ft. 4| in., butcher, /ative of Australia, clean-shaved, io!iju

Offend- r took the portmanteau from the Waverley Hotel, and left it at the Auckland Railway - station under the name of James. Another charge pending.

Auckland.— 24th ultimo, on warrant for disobeying an order of Court to pay ss. a week for each* of his three children, John Gordon, age twenty-seven, height 6 ft., butcher, native of New Zealand, medium build/ fresh complexion, dark hair, blue eyes j q j Te Kuiti. —10th August, 1906, on warrant for obtaining £6 from George McDonald by means of a valueless cheque, Thomas J. Lawson, alias Ernest Arthur Russell, age about thirty-three, height about 5 ft. 8 in., fair tanned complexion, brown moustache. (See Police Gazette, 1906, page 381.) Offender is also wanted, that he may be compelled to support his children in the industrial school.

Napier. —On or about 7th ultimo, on warrant for theft of £1 17s. 6d., the money of James Edward Hartley, Superintendent Mutual Provident Life Assurance Company, J. J. Kimpton, age twenty-nine, height sft. 9in., canvasser, supposed native of Sydney, clean-shaved, shifty eyes, coarse iron-grey hair; dressed in blue-serge or grey sac suit; wears a gold-mounted ribbon guard with gold square and compass pendant; has dress-basket for luggage. He was employed as canvasser for the company, and failed to account for the above money received from Allan Holmes on his policy.

Napier.— 29th ultimo, that he may be compelled to contribute towards the maintenance of his parents, who are destitute, Roderick John McCreadie, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and bushman, native of Tasmania, strong build, dark complexion, dark hair, dark-blue eyes, pug nose, smart active appearance. He was heard of at Wanganui in April last.

Wellington. —2sth ultimo, on warranter theft of i gentlemen’s silver watch and gold chain, the property o: John Carolan, value £lO, Mabel Gaisley, age about nineteen, height 5 ft., domestic, native of England, mediurr build, fair complexion, auburn hair hanging down her bad and tied with a large black bow, rather full face, large blu< eyes, some front teeth missing; dressed in plum-colourec skirt ardpink- or white-silk blouse, large brown-straw mush room-shaped hat with brown trimmings, patent-leather shoes with laTge bright buckles. She was stopping in the same house with complainant, and pledged the above articles al Metz’s pawn-office for £3 10s. She is supposed to have gone to Hamilton, where she was formerly in service.

Green, age about twentyfive, height about 5 ft. 6 in., rather thin build, dark com plexion, brown eyes, rather sharp features; dressed in a grej costume and black hat; has a boy about five years of agi with her. She left her child with Mrs. Bromley, Karori, or the 20th December last, and promised to pay 10s. a week foi maintenance. She gave her address as 223 Willis Street. Wellington (but was not known there), and said her husbanc was a brickmaker who had deserted her in November, 1909 No trace can now be found of her, and the child was com mitted to the industrial school.
