Auckland. —2nd November last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paying £1 6s. costs for drunkenness, Charles Frampton, age forty, height 5 ft. 4§/n., labourer, native of England, medium build, dark complexion, black hair turning grey, hazel eyes, large nose,v nude female, &c., on right forearm, bracelet on right Wrist, nude female on rock on left forearm, scar on chin. He is supposed to have come to Wellington.

Offender fdfged the name of Richard Waddy Coslett to an indorsement on a promissory note for £3O drawn by offender and his wife, Alice Bastin, in favour of John Lynch, settler, Rouse Lane.

Hamilton. —20th ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Claud Percival Tibby, age twenty-one, height s,ft. 3in., motor- engineer, native of New Zealand, thill Imfid, clean-shaved, sharp features, large mourn; thick lips, sallow complexion, Jhack hanvcmfied up in front, grey eyes, false upphr-sfejeth, short Atumpy hands dirty with oil; dressed in dark4irawn« ! *S«it andv cap, soft white shirt or dark sweater ; may wear a double black-ribbon chain, and greenstone and gold knife pendants. Hamilton. —22nd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £5 14s. fine and costs for using obscene language, James' McGifFord, alias Gifford, age forty-two, height 6 ft., labourer, native of New Zealaiad, thin build, fair complexion, ginger hair, grey eyes, long nose, thin features, wrinkled face, small lump on right cheek near nose, ginger moustache only; dressed in dark shabby suit and hard black hat; fond of drink. He paid the costs, 11s., and there is a balance now due of £5 3s.

Waihi. —22nd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven months in default of paying £B4 4s. fine and costs for sly-grog selling, Hilton Moon, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer and miner, native of Australia, sallow complexion, round features, stout build, dark hair; usually well dressed in dark-grey tweed suit and hard black-felt hat. Before leaving Waihi he expressed his intention of going to Southland or Westland.

Gisborne. — lrwin Goodwin Grinlinton, theft: It has been ascertained by Detective Rawle that offender was seen in Sydney on 17th November last, and then expressed his intention of going to England. Complainants will not undertake any expense to effect his arrest outside New Zealand. (See Police Gazette, 1909, page 475.)

Eltham. £4O 17s. 2d., the property of Walter Edwards, farmer, Eltham, Frank Meagher, age seventeen (looks older), height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, blue eyes, fair hair; dressed in blue-serge suit, white tehnis-shirt, and Dr. Jim hat. Offender was milking for complainant, and on above date received a cheque for above amount, which he cashed, and cleared out with the money. His step-father resides at Timaru Road, Waimate,

Palmerston North. —23rd ultimo, on warrant for theft of a military overooat Jau(| a pair of leather leggings, the property of the New/’Zealand Government, value about £2 10s., Charles age nineteen, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, nati va of/New Zealand, slim build, slovenly appearance, fair complexion and hair, small features, pointed chin. He yfas a member of the Palmerston North Rifle Volunteer Corps/and on ceasing to be a member failed to return the, above articles t4jiis'©ffioer. ~^

Palmerston North. —2sth ultimo, for escaping from the police prison when on remand on a charge of theft of a bicycle, Horace Champion, alias Hockly, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 4J in., labourer and farm hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, tanned sallow complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved, scar on back of head, result of an operation ; dressed in dark-tweed suit and white shirt. He had a cheque-book on him on the Bank of Now South Wales, Hawera, and is supposed to have a brother there, fitting up machinery for creameries. Finger prints filed in F.P. Bureau.

Palmerston North. —23rd ultimo, on warrant for theft of a leather pouch, a haversack, and a pair of leather leggings, value £2, the property of the New Zealand,Government, David Delaney, age about thirty-six, height's ft. 8 in., gardqhdt/ pktive of Ireland, stout build, sallow complexion', dark-brown hair turning grey, Roman nose, large hands and feet, clumsy gait. Offender was a member of the Palmerston North Rifle Volunteer Corps, and on his ceasing to be a member failed to hand in the above articles to his officer.

Palmerston North. —7th ultimo, on warrants of commitment to Palmerston North Prison for fourteen days each in default of paying £4 2s. 3d. each fine and costs for gambling in the train, John and John Carkeek, alias Carson. First: Age foriy-three, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer and spieler, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark hair turning grey, small nose, blue eyes. Reid, age thirty-two, height 6 ft. 1 in. or 2 in., clerk, native of New Zealand, medium build, reddish pimply complexion, dark-brown hair, very thin on top, fairly heavy dark-brown moustache, brown eyes, reddish nose; well dressed, generally in dark clothes, double collar ; wears a gold ring with shield, “W. J. R.” thereon. He was seen some time ago in Vancouver, and expressed bis intention of returning to New Zealand. His mother resides in Roslyn Road, Napier.

Wellington. —l3th ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Archibald Clyde McDonald, age thirty-six, height 6 ft. lin., labourer, native of Victoria, well built, ruddy complexion, dark hair turning grey (curled and parted in centre), light moustache, but rfiay now be cleanshaved, good address; dressed in a' 1 blue-black suit, blaok boots with rubber heels, a double gold watch-chain with medal attached. Offender forged the name of A. E. O’Neale, farmer 1 , Feaaherston, to a cheque for £l2 155., and uttered the same to the Drapery and General Importing Company, Wellington, for goods supplied, receiving a balance of £lO 3s. 7d. ,

Westport. 9th October, on warrant for bigamy, Andrew Robert Murray, age twenty - nine, height 5 ft. 7 in., miner, native of Australia, slim build, sandy complexion, red hair, red moustache only, blue eyes, crooked nose, sharp features. Offender went through the form of marriage with Isabella Kidd, at Millerton, on above date, having been previously married, and his wife being still alive. He is supposed to have left for Wellington on the 21st ultimo.

Christchurch. 27th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences on George W. Plimsoll, draper, George Johnstone, alias H. McLeod, age thirty-five to forty, height 5 ft. 6 in. or 7 in., dark complexion, sharp features, slight build, clean-shaved; dressed in dark or light-grey suit, fancy vest with black check, brown boots, straw boater hat with black band ; suffers from sciatica. He arrived from Sydney by the s.s. “ Warrimoo ” on the 15th ultimo, and obtained a blank cheque from M. J. Donnelly, hotel-keeper, Wellington, which he filled in for £5 and uttered to complainant in payment for a rough greenish-tweed overcoat, value £2 12s. 6d., and received the change. He falsely represented that he bad an account at the Bank of New Zealand, Te Aro, Wellington.

Christchurch. —llth ultimp, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Ernest\ E.<N©edhdSm, about thirtythree, height abouff 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and gardener, native of England, dark complexion and rnfiustache, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, medidm buijd; wbajjs a brown suit. Offender forged the name of !Harry* Matherson to a cheque for £3 on Bank of New Zealand, and uttered the same to F. H. Steel, butcher, Christchurch.

Timaru. —22nd ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Victor Spencer, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., farm labourer, native of New Zealand, fair hair, clean-shaved, fair complexion, good teeth ; dressed in dark clothes and cap or Panama hat.

Dunedin.—24th November last, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 Bs. Bd. fine and costs for committing a breach of the peace, Peter Muir, alias G. Muir, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in., fireman, native of England, medium build, sharp features, clean-shaved, dark hair; dressed in dark suit and cap.

Cromwell. — 16th ultimo, on warrant for failing to make provision for the maintenance of his illegitimate ehild, James Raitt, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 3 in., dredgeman, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark hair and moustache, hair inclined to curl, pleasant appearance ; usually wears a light-coloured tweed suit and cap.
