Thames.— 26th ultimo, from the railway-station at Parawai, the property of ERNEST Me PIKE, labourer, a Gladstone bag and tin crunk, containing the following articles of clothing: Three suits of clothes (one black, one with white stripes, and one brown), a yellow riding-coat, a pair of white tennis-shoes, six pairs of saddle-tweed pants, three large travelling-rugs (one red and black, one yellow and black, and one red green and black), a purple and green vest lined with red flannel, a pair of white tennis-pants, a plaited tennis-belt, and other articles of clothing of the total value of £ls. Identifiable. The tin trunk was found near the station, with tfie lock broken off and the contents missing.

Karangahake. —7th instant, from the engine-room, the property of the NEW ZEALAND CROWN MINES COMPANY, about 30 yards of white-cotton canvas, 6 ft. wide, blue thread running through the canvas about an inch from the edge ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Hastings. —Between 7th October and Ist ultimo, from a paddock on the Takapau-Norsewocd Road, the property of AMBROSE POTTS, sheep-farmer, eighty-five cross-bred Romney-Lincoln dry ewes, 4-tooth to full mouth, all marked with Potts’s registered ear-mark, tip off right ear and square piece out of centre of same ear. Some of them in addition will also have front or front and back bits out of one or both cars ; value, £65 15s. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. — 21st September last, from RUTH FAIRBURN, when travelling by train from New Plymouth to Palmerston North, a ladies’ open-faced silver wristlet watch in blue-leather wrist-band, No. 115763; value, £1 ss. Identifiable.

Palmerston North.— 2sth ultimo, from the dwelling of HENRY PIKE, during the progress of an auction sale, two oval blue-enamel vases, 6 in. long, wistaria flowers on vases, white-metal base, value £2 10s. ; a blue-grey porcelain vase, about 9 in. long, with white filigree-work on vase, wide silver base, value £1 15s, Identifiable.

Palmerston North. —25th September last, from the dwelling of WILLIAM WAUGH, farmer, a silver hunting lever watch, No. 852, value £8 (identifiable), and 10s. in money. Suspicion attached to a Man, name unknown, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., sailor, stout build, dark hair and complexion, tattoo-marks on both arms and back of hands. Suspect was employed by complainant for two weeks, and the watch was missed after his departure.

Otaki. —14bh instant, from the dwelling of RAYMOND MANN, bricklayer, a black-leather pocket-book, containing a crossed cheque, No. 187697, for £l7 10s., on the Bank of Australasia, Otaki, drawn by C. H. Wildsmith; a South African war-medal with four clasps, “R. F. M.” and Regimental No. “ 4314,” engraved on it.

Petone. —11th instant, from the yard of the Workingmen’s Club, the property of SIDNEY NIGHOLLS, steward of the club, about 40 ft. black-rubber hose, fin. coupling on one end, and Jin. brass nozzle 6in. long, several coal-tar marks on the hose ; value, £2. Identifiable.

Petone. —l6th instant, from the Eire Brigade Station, the property of CHARLES LEPPER, captain of Fire Brigade, a pair of joiners’ bench cramps, 3 ft. long, gun-metal heads and shoes branded “G. Lepper ”; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Kilbirnie. — 29th ultimo, from a paddock, the property of CHARLES HILL, cabman, a bay gelding, age five years, 15 hands high, white hind fetlocks, wearing cover (slightly torn), very quiet; value, £2O. Identifiable.

Methven. —2sth ultimo, from the yard of the Canterbury Hotel, the property of DONALD McLEAN, farmer, a brown waterproof motor-rug, lined with check-coloured lining, two large oil-stains in centre, clips on each corner; value, £2 10s. Suspicion attached to Taylor (name probably fictitious), age forty-four or forty-six, height 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in., labourer, medium build, very dark complexion, looks like a half-caste Maori, dark moust icbe ; wearing a brown check suit and brown slouch hat.

Annat. —18th ultimo, from the hotel-stables, Kirwee, the property of FRANCIS NARBY, farmer, two Kaiapoi rugs, one a green colour on one side and light-brown and green stripes on the ocher side ; the other has a grey check on one side and grey stripes on the other side : value, £3. Identifiable.

Pleasant Point.— 7th instant, from the yard of the Railway Hotel, the property of JAMES HEFFERNAN, farmer, Kerry town, a brown buggy-rug, almost, new, lined with rough grey-check tweed, nickel ring in centre of rug; value, £2. Identifiable.

Donedin. — Ist instant, from the wharf, the property of HENRIETTA SHEARS, domestic, a wicker dress-basket, about 2 ft. long, with two leather straps (one repaired with a brass rivet), containing a brown-fur muff, value 10s. ; a brown-fur tippet, value 12s. ; a navy-blue skirt, value £2 ; a fur toque, value 55.; two white-flannel night-dresses, value 15s. ; and numerous other articles of ladies’ wearing apparel. Identifiable.

South Dunedin. ELIZABETH HUNTER, King Edward Street, a gentlemen’s gold ring, with an opal in claw-setting, value £7; a ladies’ gold ring, set with one large and two small opals, raised setting, value £5; a ladies’ gold ring, set with a diamond and seven small rubies, claw-setting, value £3; a ladies’ gold ring, set with five diamonds, claw-setting (Hall-marked), value £10; a ladies’ small green hand-bag, silver-mounted, about 6 in. by 4 in., value 15s. Identifiable.

Naseby. WILLIAM STRONG’S shop broken into: It has now been ascertained that the number of the openfaced chronograph watch stolen is 169013. (See Police Gazette , 1909, page 445.)
