INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Sydney. —A warrant has been issued for the arreHt of William Frederick Slater for disobeying an order of Court for the maintenance of his wife and children. Description: Age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 9in., btout build, fair complexion, light-brown hair and moustache, bowlegged, small feet, has a good set of teeth, scars on his hands and a large scar on one of bis iegs; a butcher and miner. He was employed mining by the Westport Coal Company from the 7th January last to the end of February and left intending to go to some of the northern coal-mines, but may be found at a butchery business. His arrest is not d sired if he makes arrangements to pay towards the maintenance of of his wife and children. (09/1815.)
England. about thirty-six, height 5 ft. 11 in., medium build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes ; well educated ; a native of England. Johannesburg (South Africa). Cedric Strutt, age about twenty, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, a native of South Africa, fair hair and complexion,
grey eyes, stoops slightly when walking, has a somewhat foreign appearance, talks very little; dressed in dark-grey suit and brown cap. He was employed at the pumice-works, Ohinewai, up to 15th May last, when he left, supposed for Wellington. Inquiry by his mother. (09/2523.)
