Long-service Medals awarded.

Long-service medals have been awarded, in terms of Regulation No. 65, to the following members of the Force : Sergeant O’Grady, Thomas, No. 649. Sergeant Simpson, James Kerr, No. 708. Rewards. Auckland. —Sergeant F. A. Moore, No. 531, has been awarded £6, and Constable R. P. Boag, No. 1110, £5, for services in connection with the conviction of William Allison, Hone Heke Terangi, and others for sly-grog selling. (09/1784.) Thames. —Sergeant W. H. McKinnon, No. 388, has been awarded £1 for services in connection with the conviction of W. J. Dunn for failing to notify the vendor of liquor that it was for a prohibited district. (09/1804.) Thames. —Constable S. Flavell, No. 698, has been awarded £1 for services in connection with the conviction of A. H. Nathan for sending liquor into a prohibited district without being labelled. Thames.— Constable T. B. Miles, No. 1119, has been awarded £1 for services in connection with the conviction of James M. Wingley for bringing liquor into a prohibited district without notifying the Clerk of the Court. (09/1803.) Thames. —Sergeant W. H. McKinnon, No. 388, has been awarded £2 for services in connection with the conviction of Rupert Simpson, convicted on several charges of taking orders for liquor in a prohibited district. (09/1805.) Wanganui. —Sergeant H. Beattie, No. 538, has been awarded £3, and Constable A. A. Potter, £2, by the Customs Department for services in connection with the conviction of Ah Hung for having opium in his possession. (09/65.)

Wellington. —Constables F. H. Townsend, No. 1112, and H, Anderson, No. 1139, have been awarded £3 each for services in connection with the oonviction of Arthur Woodham, Frank Deering Pelling, and Edward Broadbent, for bringing liquor into a prohibited district without being labelled. (09/1836.) Greymouth. —Constable A. 0. Warwick, No. 1156, has been awarded £2 2s. by the Post and Telegraph Department for services in obtaining a conviction for breaking insulators at Hokitika. Circular No. 3/09.] j Escapees from Industrial Schools. As it is very important to the management of above schools that all escapees be promptly arrested and returned, it is requested that particular attention be paid to this matter, and that special efforts be made to effect the arrest of any inmates improperly at large.
