EXTRACTS FROM NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
(From Gazette, 1909, pages 1944, 1950, and 1952.) Lands at Palmerston North to he Sanctuaries for Imported and Native Game. PLUNKET, Governor. PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by “ The Animals Protection Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the areas described in the Schedule hereto shall be sanctuaries for the purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed within the said areas. SCHEDULE. Waterworks Reserve. All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 209 acres 2 roods 29 perches, more or less, being Section No. 273, Block IV, Arawaru Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 272, towards the south-east by forest reserve, towards the south-west by Section No. 274, and towards the north-west by Turitea Road. Esplanade. All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 39 acres 2 roods 10 perches, more or less, being portion of Rural Section No. 1536 on the plan of the Borough of Palmerston North. Bounded towards the north-west by a line 1 chain distant from and parallel to the right bank of the Manawatu River, commencing at the north-eastern boundary-line of Rural Section No. 373, and proceeding to the north-eastern boundary-line of the land known as the Racecourse; thence towards the south-west by the said land known as the Racecourse to a point 3 chains distant from the right bank of the Manawatu River; thence towards the nor;h generally by a line 3 chains distant from and parallel to the right bank of the said Manawatu River to Fitzberbert Street; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Subdivision No. 11 of Rural Section No. 1536; and thence by the said Subdivision No. 11 to a Native reserve; thence towards the south-east by the said Native reserve ; thence towards the south and east by the right bank of the Manawatu River; and again towards the south-west by Rural Section No. 373 aforesaid.

The Middle Subdivision of "the Northern Oyster-fishery set apart for Picking and Sale of Oysters under “ The Fisheries Act, 1908.” PLUNKET, Governor. WHEREAS it is enacted by section forty of “ The Fisheries Act, 1908,” that the Governor may from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, declare that any oyster-fishery, or subdivision thereof, in the North Island shall be set apart for the purposes of such section : And whereas it is desirable to set apart the Middle Subdivision of the Northern Oyster-fishery for the picking and sale of oysters : Now, therefore, I, William Lee. Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, do hereby set apart for the picking and sale of oysters, under section forty of the said Act, the Middle Subdivision of the Northern Oyster-fishery, which includes all bays, estuaries, and tidal waters between Ti Point, on the south side of the entrance to the River Waitangi, in the Bay of Islands, and a point on high-water mark of the sea due east of Trig. Station No. 3, Mataka, near Cape Wiwiki.
