Ohakune.— RODERICK SLATTERY’S horse has been found : not stolen. (See Police Gazette, 1909, page 269.)

Wellington.— GENEßAL POST OFFICE, Wellington, broken into : This offence was traced by Chief Detective C. R. Broberg and Detective G. Williams to James Hemingway, who was arrested by Chief Detective Broberg, Detective W. Lewis, and Acting-Detective A. Andrews, Wellington police, and sentenced to three years’ hard labour. Most of the stolen notes have been accounted for, and the following stolen property recovered : A diamond-shaped pin, a gold signet ring, a diamond scarf-pin, a silver cigarette-case, a single-stone'diamond ring, a snake-skin and silver matchbox, a gold-rimmed pinc-nez, a silver pencil-holder, the silver tankard with motto and crest, and a double gold chain (links entwined with gold wire). Wellington. —WHlTCOMßE AND TOMBS’S warehouse broken into : James Hemingway has been charged with this offence by Deteotive W. Lewis and Acting-Detective A. Andrews, Wellington police, and convicted on evidence by Finger Print Branch, and sentenced to three years. Part of the stolen property recovered. (See Police Gazette, 1907, page 497.)

Wellington. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE broken into: James Hemingway has been charged with the offence by Detective W. E. Lewis and Acting-Detective A.
