INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.

Sydney.— A warrant has been issued by the Water Police Bench, Sydney, for the arrest of Cyril Loader, charged with breaking and entering the residence of John Ernest Fisher, Sinclair Street, North Sydney, and stealing jewellery, value 155., therein. He is twenty-six years of age, 6 ft. 0J in. high without shoes, 12 st. weight, brown hair, grey eyes, body inclined to left, scar on left wrist, a groom, an American. Vide Victorian photograph, No. 5226. Arrest very desirable. This man is suspected of having been concerned in the jewellery-robb°ry from Mr. Boan’s residence. (See following paragraph.) (08/1469.)

Sydney. —Stolen between 7.30 and 8.30 p.m. the 17th June last, from “ Nirvana,” Elizabeth Bay Road, Sydney, the property of Harry Boan, residing there, an 18 ct. gold chain necklet, knife-tdged cross-wires on chain between shoulder and shoulder, each point of wires set with a diamond and turquoise alternately, has attached a pendant, about the size of a five-shilling piece, set with diamonds and turquoises in platinum ; a pair of diamond and turquoise earrings, screw fastening; a diamond swallow about 2J inches from beak to tip of tail, rubies for eyes, hair ornament; two ladies’ 18 ct. gold dress rings, each set with a diamond, claw setting; a ladies’ gold half-hoop dress ring, set with three diamonds and two sapphires or vice versa, claw setting ; two 18 ct. gold children’s brooches, “ Enid ” on one, “ Margery ” on the other in raised letters ; an expanding gold bangle set with a cluster of rubies and pearls on back; a gold muffchain, twisted-rope pattern, set with pearls about 4 in. apart; two gold medallions, one set with turquoises and pearls, the other with peatls only ; a plain silver card-case ; a small dark-leather case, containing a pair of gold sleeve-links, dumb bell and oval-shape pattern ; a gentlemen’s half-mourn-ing collar-stud, set with a diamond, black enamel around diamond ; two children’s small pearl necklets ; a gold cable bangle with a small gold open-face watch, gold dial, hand, and figures; and a ladies’ green-morrocco silver-mounted purse : value, £SOO. Identifiable.

Glebe. —A warrant has been issued by the Glebe Bench for the arrest of Arthur Albert Haywood, charged with wife-desertion (indictable offence). He is thirty years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. or 7 in. high, very stout build, very red full face, may have a fair moustache, blue eyes, dark-brown curly/nai# sac suit and black soft-felt / /Bmfqvfra to have gone to Wellington, New Zealand. Birmingham. —lnquiry requested for Sydney B. Scott, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 5 in. fair hair and complexion. Inquiry by his father H. Scott, John Bright Street, Birmingham. (08/1477.)

Malta. —Inquiry requested for Guiseppe Mangion, who emigrated to New Zealand, and has failed to write to his relatives for the last three years. The last address he gave was J. Davis, General Post Office, Wellington. Inquiry by his mother, Rosaria Ellul, Strada S. Nicola, Valetta. (08/1023.)

Gilligan” marked on left arm, a commercial traveller, very congenial, and a good entertainer. He left his home about eight years ago, and is inquired for by his mother, wife, and daughter, who offer SSO reward for information as to his whereabouts. (08/1450.)

St. Louis.—A reward of SSOO is offered by Wells, Fargo, and Company Express for the arrest and detention of David H. Barker, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., cashier, slight build, weight between 1301 b. and 1401 b., grey-blue eyes, brown hair, regular features, rather good-looking, is well educated, and has the appearance and manner of a gentleman, square shoulders, stands erect, very pleasant, well

modulated voice, talks rather slowly, light complexion, cleanshaved ; dresses neatly in dark clothes. He had with him a new imitation-leather grip, medium-brown colour, “ Y ” and “T” on lock of suit-case. He took with him ten Wells, Fargo, and Company Express traveller’s money-orders, Nos. 0005150 to 0005159, and will no doubt try to realise on same. If traced, information to be forwarrded to the Commissioner’s Office, Wellington, before arrest. (08/1470.)
