Newmarket.— Between the 19th and 22nd ultimo, from a tool-shed, Owen’s Road, one nearly new Stanley No. 45 carpenters’ iron plough, “J. A. Sims” stamped on handle, value £1 10s.; one old pair of plumbers’snips, about 10 in. long, length of blades about 3 in., one point of the cuttingend longer than the other, value 3s. 6d.; an old ratchetbrace, “ J. A. Sims” stamped on wooden head, a small piece of wood broken out of the head near the centre, value 65.; one new 1 in. match tongueing-plane, with a groove about §in.,“J A. Sims ” stamped on end, value 55.; one old 9 in. square, with four brass-headed rivets fastening the handle to the blade, “J. A. Marton. —18th ultimo, from the White Hart Hotel, property of CECIL JAMES BARFORD, photographer, a bluecloth overcoat with black-velvet collar, lined with black satin, frayed at bottom, chafe-mark on one sleeve, value £5 ; in the pocket of coat was a phot<- graphio lens, makers Taylor, Taylor, and Hobson, value £5. Suspicion attached to James Jimson, age forty five to fifty, height 5 ft. 9in., labourer, native of Australia, slim build, grey hair, moustache only, cast in one eye; dressed in shabby grey suit, soft brown bat, and drab overcoat; had a swag and portmanteau with him.

Otorohanga. —llth March last, when in transit from Otorohanga to Auckland by train, property of HARRIET HANDYSIDE, a tin travelling-trunk, about 26 in. long, 16 in. wide, 14 in. high, painted yellow, containing a black-silk dress, finished with black lace, value £l3 ; two plain blacksilk dresses, value £7; black-silk velvet, value 18s.; a

Taihape.—loth ultimo, from the hut of STEPHEN CHARLES ORD, sawmill hand, a gentlemen’s silver Rotherham lever watch, glass cracked, second-hand slightly damaged, “ S. C. Ord” heavily engraved on back ; value, £4 15s.

Patea. —l3th ultimo, from the Central Hotel, property of A. MANGANAY, farmer, a gentlemen’s black-rubber over-’ coat, lined with a yellowish-buff material, “ A. Manganay ’ in blue pencil on lining in large letters across the shoulders ; value, £2. In the pockets were a pair of brown riding-gloves ; value, 6s. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to John Cameron, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., canvasser, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion and hair, cleanshaved except moustache ; fond of drink.
