DESERTERS FROM HIS MAJESTY’S SERVICE.
From H.M.S. “Pegasus,” at Auckland. Harold J. Simpson, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., stoker, native of England, medium build, sallow complexion, dark - brown hair, brown eyes, star and crescent on biceps right arm, heart on biceps left arm, cross on left arm ; deserted 11th December, 1907. A reward not exceeding £3 will be paid for his apprehension.
Harold Edwin Conway, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 6in., seaman, native of New 2^land, medium build, brown hair, blue eye/s, 1907. He whs deserting, but escaped after being placed on bdarct. A reward of £1 will be paid for his apprehension. (See Police Gazette, 1907, page 469.)
From H.M.S. “ Pioneer,” at -Lyttelton. Albert Victor Smith, age seventeen, height 5 ft. 6| in., boy second class, natiifS of Ndw. Zealand, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, and fresh complexion usual place of residence, 107 Grayton Street,! Linwdod, Christchurch. Deserted 22nd December, 1907. ! A reward of £3 will be paid for his apprehension. I'f 5 (vrV From H.M.S. “ Fantome,” at Cairns. Reginald F. C. Bull, age twenty - one, height 5 ft. 3 in., signalman, native of England, dark complexion, black hair, grey eyes ; deserted sth December, 1907. William E. Weller, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 5 in., seaman, native of England, ruddy complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, clasped hands tattooed on left wrist, eightpointed stars with woman in centre on right wrist; deserted sth December, 1907.
George Buckenham, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 6 in., fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, tattooed on both forearms ; deserted Bth December, 1907. A reward not exceeding £3 will be paid for the arrest of each of these men.
