Complaints have been made that the police do not assist the acclimatisation societies in detecting breaches of the above Acts, and putting a stop to poaching of all descriptions, especially the practice of dynamiting fish in rivers. Attention has been drawn to this matter before, and it must be clearly understood that it is the duty of the police to do their utmost to detect any offences of this nature. All members of the Force are therefore again directed to afford the societies every assistance in their power, and also to lose no opportunity that occurs to prosecute offenders. W.
