PERSONS WANTED.
Auckland. —9th instant, on warrant for deserting his wife, Stella Calldron, at Auckland, Frederick Thomas Calldron, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 7 in., gum-sorter, native of New Zealand, slight build, brown hair, small lightbrown moustache, blue eyes, “ F.T.C.” on one arm, “ F ” on the other. Photograph filed in the Inspector’s Office, Auckland. Was last seen in Auckland about the beginning of April, 1907.
Pukekohe. —llth instant, on warrant for theft from the dwelling of Arthur Boyle, Tuakau, of an overcoat, a greenstone heart, a brass chain, a razor (“ 1,000 ” on blade), a ladies’ very fine link rolled-gold chain, a green-and-white tie, a pair of men’s white gloves, a pair of dancing-shoes, a flannel, a soft and a white shirt, three celluloid collars, two gold-plated sleeve-links, a Queen Victoria half-sovereign with hole in it, four bone studs, four foreign coins, and a halfanna ; total value, £B— John Sharp, alias Murray, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in., gum-digger, native of New Zealand, medium build, light-brown hair and moustache, polished sly manner; dressed in dark coat, ridingpants, leggings, and black hard hat ; fond of drink. Was riding a bay pony.
Wairoa.— lst ultimo, on warrant for using obscene language, Albert alias Bert Gleeson, age about twentysix, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved, prominent chin; dressed when last seen in light-tweed suit and soft-tweed hat. He was formerly working at Gisborne, and is supposed to have gone to Napier.
Palmerston North.— 29th ultimo, on warrant for theft, Bert O’Brien, alias Dick King, alias George McDonald, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in. or 7 in., spieler appearance, auburn hair, clean-shaved, pimply face, one eye injured, most of upper teeth out, medium build; dressed in black suit, black muffler, patent-leather boots, and was carrying a brief-bag with “ Dick King ” in gold letters on side. Offender was staying with complainant at No. 1 Eastern Place, Christchurch, and disappeared, taking complainant’s coat, £3, and a Savings-bank book, which was handed in to the Christchurch Post-office and £ls 10s. drawn out. The account was also transferred to Wellington without the knowledge of complainant. (See Police Gazette, 1907, page 190.) Offender is said to be identical with Michael Linehan, wanted at Dunedin for theft. (See Police Gazette, 1907, page 190.)
Feilding.— 3rd instant, on warrant for theft of a pair of gentlemen’s elastic boots, a pair of dark-tweed trousers with light stripe running through them, and a dark-grey or brownish-tweed cap, value £l, property of Richard Johnston, labourer, William George Mead, alias J. Wilcox, age sixteen, height 5 ft. 6 in., thin sharp features, dark complexion and hair, dark eyes ; dressed in dark-tweed suit and cap. Is an absconder from Weraroa Training Farm. Christchurch. —l6th September, 1905, on three warrants of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months on each in default of paying £ll 18s. 6d., £ll 35., and £6 18s. 6d. for trespassing on Riccarton Racecourse and streetbetting, Barney Ryan, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 11 in., spieler, native of England, stoutish build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, long sharp nose, left thumb injured. Christchurch.— 23rd ultimo, on warrant for obtaining coal to the value of £l7 Is, 9d. from George McClatchie, coal-merchant, by false pretences, G. W. Cooper, age twenty-
two, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, colonial, stout build, very fair hair; dressed in dark coat and vest, grey cap; uses a bicycle; has a white-metal watch-chain, and Exhibition medal with initials “ G.W.C.” attached to chain. Offender represented he owned a threshing-machine at Lincoln, and was supplied with coal, which he sold for cash to residents in the country.
IP Christchurch.— 7th February last, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Gaol for twelve months for being a rogue and vagabond, Kate Lynn, age twenty - seven, height 5 ft. 1 in., prostitute, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, grey eyes. The warrant was suspended if she remained in the Samaritan Home, from which she escaped on the 9th instant.
Geraldine. —l9th March last, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, David Todd, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 9 in. or 10 in., farm labourer, native of New Zealand, slim build, fair complexion, light-brown moustache, light-blue eyes, rather long sharp nose, has one or more finger-nails injured, smart active appearance; may be wearing a navy-blue serge sac suit and hard black hat; wears greenstone tie-pin with gold bird on it, and a silver pin with fern-leaf in coat. His' relatives reside at Prebbleton, Christchurch.
Geraldine.— 2sth ultimo, for theft from J. Meredith, cycle-engineer, of a gentlemen’s B.S.A. bicycle, No. 184, “ Meredith ” stamped on head and on down-tube of frame, reversible handle-bars, Brooks saddle, rat-trap pedals, value £7 10s., Man, name unknown, age about twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 9 in. or 10 in., supposed labourer, strong build, fair complexion, no hair on face, Irish accent. He hired the bicycle for the day, and as he has failed to return he is now suspected of having sold it. No warrant.
Dunedin.— loth instant, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Gaol for fourteen days in default of. paying £1 3s. fine and costs for disobeying an order of Court for the support of her illegitimate child, Gertrude Byford, age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, strong build, biown hair, large features and nose, good appearance, plausible manner ; dresses well, generally wears a long light-grey woollen cloak.
Invercargill.— l4th instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, William Bryce/ age twenty-four, height about 6 ft., labourer, native of New Zealanl, slight build, clear dark complexion, dark hair, clean-shaved except dark-brown moustache, very erect carriage; usually wears dark clothes and black hard hat or a brown-felt Dr. Jim.
