Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a man named Ellis and his wife, who were employed at complainant’s. Descriptions: First, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 4 in., cook and labourer, native of New South Wales, thin build, dark complexion and hair, small dark moustache, hazel eyes; dressed in navy-blue suit and brown Dr. Jim hat. Second, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 1 in., cook, native of New South Wales, thin builcl, very fair hair and complexion, light-grey eyes, scar on side of nose ; wearing black dress and white-straw hat.

Fraser, and indorsed by Fraser ; a £2 cheque, name of drawer or to whom payable not known—all cheques on Bank of New Zealand, Taihape; a£s note, and four single £1 notes. Suspicion attached to Joe Hawera, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and shearer, medium build, dark complexion, clean-shaved, a half-caste Maori; dirty appearance ; dressed when last seen in darkbrown coat, blue dungaree trousers, and dirty white sweater. Is well known to Natives about Wanganui, where he will probably try and cash the cheques.
