PERSONS WANTED.
Auckland. —19th June last, on warrant for deserting his wife, Helen Harding, at Auckland, Frederick Harding, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., carpenter, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, ginger or darkbrown moustache, blue eyes, false teeth, slightly bow-legged ; was recently employed as a joiner by the Kauri Timber Company at Auckland. Arrived about three years ago from England.
Mercer.—3lst May last, on warrant for theft of 19s. lid., money of Walter Brown, butcher, 'William Cochran, age about twenty-nine, height, 5 ft. 7 in. or Bin., butchers’ assistant and labourer, native of England, slight build, fair complexion, fair hair, fair moustache only, fond of drink, good billiard-player, quick, agreeable manner. He was employed by complainant, and failed to account for thß above amount received for goods. Other charges pending.
Haweua. —lsth ultimo, on warrant for obtaining £1 from Robert Reid Hutcheson, hotelkeeper, by means of valoeless cheque, Harold Bay, alias Smith, age fortynine, height 5 ft. 5J in., labourer and cook, native of Norway, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue-grey eyes, mole under left eye. Featherston.—3rd instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child,
Sydney Bademan, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 7in., farm-labourer, native of New Zealand, thin build, black hair, red face, clean-shaved ; usually wears dark trousers and coat and white sweater. Was recently working at Waipawa, and will probably attempt to leave the colony via Auckland for Fr’ieco.
Kaiapoi. —3rd instant, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Gaol for three months for disobeying an order of the Court to pay 6s. a week for the supoort of his illegitimate child and find surety of £SO, Frank Hassall, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 7 in., farm-labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, cleanshaved ; usually dressed in dark suit and hard black hat. His father is a farmer at Glarkville, near Kaiapoi.
Dunedin. —3lst July last, on warrants of commitment to Dunedin gaol for eight days in defauk of paying £1 11s. fine and costs for drunkenness and resisting the police, William Joseph Gaffey, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7Jin., labourer, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, thick nose ; was at Milton on 30th ultimo.
Invercargill. served on him for disobeying an order of Court to pay 7s. 6d. a week towards the support of his illegitimate child, Henry Williams, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in., butcher, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, right middle finger disfigured, right little finger of left hand crooked ; usually employed at freezing-works. Was last heard of at Islington in June, 1906.
