INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Victoria.— George Gordon is charged on warrant with stealing from the dwelling of Mary Fiedler, Ascot Vale, on the 18th August last, certain money, two purses, three rings, two brooches, a pendant, a chain, a bracelet, and a locket. Description: Forty years of age, 5 ft. 5 in. high, stout build, brown hair, grey eyes, has “J.R.” indistinct outside left forearm. Was last seen in Melbourne on the morning of 3rd October, and was then wearing a brown moustache. Arre-t desired. (See Victoria Police Gazette, 1905, page 380.) (F.P.B. 190/05.) Identical with George Gordon, alias Giles, discharged from Pentridge Gaol on the 26th January, 1905. The man was on bail to appear at the General Sessions, Melbourne, on the 4th October, 1905.
England.— lnquiry requested for John Hoar or Hoare, carpenter. He resided at Brishma, near Horndean, and was sentenced at Winchester to seven years for poaching, and transported to Sydney about seventy years ago. After his time expired he came to Auckland, and was last heard of about twenty years ago. (05/2124.)
