Auckland.— 9th ultimo, from REYNOLDS AND CO., bicycle-manufacturers, a gentlemen’s Rudge Whitworth bicycle, name painted on front bar, straight handles, 24in. frame, rubber pedals, Dunlop tires, handle-grips covered with grey felt; value, £4. Identifiable. The bicycle was lent to a boy (name unknown), about fourteen years of age, to ride to the hospital, but he has failed to return it.

Napier. —24th or 25th ultimo, from the paddock of PETER VERSCHAFFELT, Roslyn Road, a light-roan pony mare, five years old, 14 hands high, white streak down the face, is casting winter coat of hair, scars on front and hind legs, long tail, shod all round, half circle brand on off shoulder; value, £B. Suspicion attached to Patrick Glarkin, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 8 in., native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, blue eyes, slight cast in them ; generally dressed in dark suit and black hat. Supposed gone to Akitio Station, near Dannevirke.

Taihape.— Between 29th ultimo and 4th instant, from a box in transit from Dunedin to Taihape, the property of FANNY HANSON, boardinghouse-keeper, a carbuncle pin with diamond star, value £5 ; a pair of small gold leaf-ear-rings, with very small drops of gold grapes; a silver dollar made into brooch ; a silver half-dollar, as above, pin missing; a quarter-dollar with hole in it; a 9 ct. gold ring set with three pearls, two missing; three or four flat gold nuggets in small bottle; a gold stud, small round pattern, with initials “ R.C. ” ; a small silver brooch, ivy-leaf pattern ; a small oval gold locket, embossed on both sides, wearing smooth (lock of hair inside) ; a carving knife and fork; a dozen table-knives, white handles, one rivet on edge of handle; a dozen table-forks ; a dozen dessert knives, same as above (all knives branded “ Lockwood ” on blades) ; a dozen dessert-forks; a dozen soup-spoons; a dozen dessert-spoons ; two dozen teaspoons : total value, £lB ss. 6d. Jewellery identifiable.

Wellington South. —l4th or 15th instant, from the office of COMPTON AND CLARK, timber merchants, Kilbirnie, a pair of “Zeiss” field-glasses in a brownleather case, with “7th N.Z.” scratched thereon; value, £9 9s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —2sth ultimo, from a right-of-way off Manchester Street, the property of MARTIN S. RIDLEY, tea merchant, Manchester Street, a gentlemen’s AngloSpecial bicycle, rusty frame, enamel worn off, turned-down handles, no grips, both tires new; value, £7. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —sth instant, from the dwelling of JOHN J. PHAUP, engine cleaner, Lichfield Street, a gentlemen’s English lever silver hunting-watch, No. 223066, maker Rotherham ; a gentlemen’s open-faced nickel watch, a long silver curb-chain, a very small white bone pendant attached ; value, £6 15s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —2nd April last, from HARRY ARNOLD. The 14 ct. gold half-hunting Geneva lever watch stolen has No. 21223 on back case and 223 on front case. (See Police Gazette, 1905, page 127.)

Lyttelton. —7th instant, from the bedroom of JOHN EALEM, wharf labourer, Oxford Street, a silver hunting lever Waltham watch, No. A.B, 957 and 10150395 ; a double silver chain, fetter-link pattern, attached ; has a square silver locket in centre and metal match-box at end of chain: value, £4. Identifiable.

Dunedin. —2lst ultimo, from the Normal School, the property of ERNEST MARRYATT, 231, Cumberland Street, a Chesterfield coat (recovered) value, £2 ss. The coat was sold for 6s. to a second-hand dealer by a man who gave the name of Starr (probably fictitious) age twenty-two, height sft. sin., fair hair, pale face; dressed in dark clothes and hard hat.

North-east Valley (Dunedin). 2nd instant, from the hut of THOMAS SMITH, labourer, an old open faced lever watch, glass loose, value £1; an old nickel chain, a sac coat, a dark-tweed double-breasted vest, and a pair of trousers same material, a white honeycomb cotton shirt: total value, £4 ss. 6d. Suspicion attached to Percy W. Haydon, who lived in the hut with complainant; age nineteen, height about 5 ft. 7 in., stout build, fair hair, fresh complexion, large nose; dressed in light tweed coat and vest, dark-tweed trousers and lace-up boots.
