PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland.-- 19th ultimo, on warrant for forging and uttering a cheque for £7 10s. to Benjamin McKerras, bootmaker, Queen Street, A. Henderson (name supposed fictitious), age about twenty-six, height about 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved ; dressed in dark clothes, hard black felt hat, soft shirt, and a new pair of pointed-toed boots, size 8. Offender may be identical with Alfred Henderson, alias Marston. (See Police Gazette, 1905, page 125.)

Taumaranui. —4th instant, that a notice of fine may be served on him for introducing liquor into a Maori kainga, William Short, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer or clerk, Canadian, fair hair, clean-shaved, thin pale face, slim build. Supposed gone to Auckland.

New Plymouth. —sth instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, James Joseph Cullen (known as Darkey White), age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and enginedriver, native of Melbourne, stout build, square shoulders, dark oomplexion, dark hair and moustache, dark eyes, has a small patch of white hair on right side of head hidden by his hat; generally dressed in dark suit and white Alpine hat. An ex-member of the Australian Police, and was in the South African War. Complainant, Bertha Laura Low, domestic, New Plymouth.

Manaia. —4th or sth instant, on warrant for theft from the dwelling of Wharerata, a Native, of five £1 notes, and 4s. in silver, Arthur Doyle, age seventeen, a jockey, rides at unregistered meetings, slight build, weak eyes, front teeth

missing; dressed in dark knicker-suit and cap. His parents live at Hawera.

Wanganui.— Bth instant, that copy of minute of order may be served on him, William Rickelben, age thirtytwo, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and butcher, fair hair and complexion, clean-shaved except fair moustache, blue eyes, thick nose, smart appearance, “ Jessie ” tattooed on left arm. Was last seen at Hawera in April last. (See Police Gazette, 1905, pages 35 and 146.)

Pahiatua.— 2Bth ultimo, on warrant for theft of a black-enamelled Remington bicycle, No. 82739 on front bar, 23 in. frame, roller-brake, steel rims, value £ls, the property of Charles Neilson, labourer, Kohonui, Harry McCarthy, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 7 in., or 8 in., labourer, colonial, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved ; dressed in dark-check suit, and dark-blue skull cap. About eight months ago he was employed by Mrs. Sinclair, wood and coal dealer, Wellington.

Masterton. —lßth May last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington prison for twenty-four hours, in default of paying ss. fine for drunkenness, —he was also ordered to pay £1 10s. for medical expenses,— John Wallace, age fortytwo, height 5 ft. s£in., labourer, native of Victoria, medium build, dark complexion, dark hair, whiskers and moustache; dressed in dark slop tweed suit.

Wellington.— l6th ultimo, on warrant for theft from Charles Ryan, jeweller, Willis Street, Frederick Clifford, age thirty, height about 5 ft. 6in., jewellery canvasser, native of England, medium build, florid small black moustache, dark hair; generally K wears lightcoloured tweed sac-suit and cap. He was employed canvassing for complainant, and sold a watch for £4 18s. and converted the money to his own use. Was last heard of at Pahiatua. His wife’s address is “ care Mrs. Wood,” High Street, Dannevirke.

Nelson.— 6th instant, on warrant for failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, William Thomas Andrews, age twenty-eight, height 6 ft., sawmill hand and barman, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark hair and complexion, clean-shaved except moustache ; dressed in dark suit and cap. Was last heard of in Wellington.

Milton. —3lst May last, on warrant for the theft of a Royal Enfield bicycle, value £7, the property of George Wilson, carpenter, Stephen Golding, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Milton, Otago, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair inclined to curl, short round features, looks towards the ground when walking; dressed in dark-tweed suit and dark-tweed cap. Said he was going to work at the Smithfield Freezing-works. He borrowed the bicycle and pledged it at Jacobs’s pawn-office, Dunedin, for 155., and sold the ticket for 10s.
