Geneva watches; an 18 ct. gold open-face keyless lever watch, by Russell; a Oct. gold hunting engraved gents’ English lever watch ; an 18 ct. gold hunting keyless Waltbam watch, plain case; a 10ct. gold hunting kevless Waltham ladies’ watch ; and four S.G. enamel watches, set with pearls. A 9ot. and a 15ct. chain, gold bars, swivels, and settings; two 9 ct. hollow curb albert chains; a 9 ct. double curb albert chain and compass; two 9ct. albert chains, fancy links; a9ct. long curb muff-chain ; a 9 ct. long cable muff-chain; eight Prinoe of Wales muff-chains; ten 9 ct. fob albert muff-chains ; and six machine-made gold muff-chains. Three opal Champagne pins ; a pear-shaped pearl pin ; fifteen gold-mounted imitation opal pins ; thirty gold crescent pins, set with pearls and other stones ; 50 9 ct. and 15 ct. gold pins ; a 15 ct. gold pin, set with four diamonds and ruby ; and a gold pearl acorn pin. Eight 9 ct. gold curb bangles ; twenty 9 ct. gold wire bangles ; a 9 ct. gold N.S. bangle ; three 18 ct. bangles, cluster amethyst and pearls; and a H.H. bangle, set with opals and pearls. Nine 9 ct. fine Prince of Wales necklets; eight 9ct. Prince of Wales necklets; and six machine-made gold necklets. A gold enamelled diamond collar-stud ; a large pearl collar-stud ; and a smaller pearl collar-stud. Five ozs. of 15 ct. broken gold ; and a 15 ct. gold sovereign-purse, 16dwts. A 15 ct. gold cluster brooch, ten diamonds and an opal; a 15 ct. gold lyre brooch, pearl, diamond, and sapphire ; five 15 ct. gold brioches, diamonds, pearls, and opals ; thirty 9 ct. brooches, crescent and heart; thirty (9 ct. and 15 ct. bar brooches; a 15ct. diamond brooch; a 15ct. diamond and sapphire brooch, stamped “Cadby”; six 9ct. gold double bird brooches ; a 9 ct. pearl brooch ; a 15 ct. gold-bar brooch, diamond, rubies, and opal pendant; a 15ct. gold-leaf shamrock brooch ; fifteen gold beetle brooches, imitation opals and other stones; seven gold dagger brooches, pearls, rubies, and sapphires ; fifty 9 ct. imported fancy brooches ; and a 15 ct. gold photo, brooch. H.H. diamond rings ; six 15 ct. diamond andjsapphire H.H. rings; and nine dozen 9 ct. gents’ rings, amethyst, opals, and topaz; a ring, with rose diamonds; twelve 9 ct. pearl gipsy rings ; thirty-six 9 ct. and 15 ct. dressrings ; a 15 ct half hoop opal ring; two rose diamond marquise rings; six 15 ct. single-stone diamond rings ; a pearl and diamond cluster ring; a 9 ct. ring, set with rose diamonds across ; fifteen ladies’ 9ct. stone signet rings; and eight 9ct.

Twelve 9ct. gold lockets; eighty pairs of 9 ct. gold ear-rings ; two 9 ct. gold opal crosses; five gold seals; a 15 ct. gold square locket, set with five pearls; three opal pendants; two 15 ct. ladies’lockets, set with stones; a 9ct. gold shield medal, hall-marked; a gold-mounted opal pendant; a 15 ct. gold enamel rowing medal; and two 9 ct. photo, pendants, set with pearls. Newcastle. —A warrant has been issued by the Newcastle Bench for the arrest of Frank Gerald Bailey or Brooks, charged with uttering a valueless cheque for £lO to Thomas Atkinson, at Hamilton, on 18th January last. Bailey is forty-five to fifty years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. or 11 in. high, stout square build, light; blue eyes, brown moustache turning grey, inclined to be sandy ; broad face, florid complexion, very round head, walks heavily but with a swinging gait; good appearance ; usually wears brown or grey tweed sac suit, fawn Dr. Jim bat, and green sailor knot-tie, with red stripes; has a heavy silver double watch-chain and two watches; a raoing man, and talks of having racehorses in Brisbane, one call’d “ The Rug.” Accompanied by his wife, about thirtyfive years of age, medium height, stout build, big bust and hips, dark complexion, black hair, worn with a fringe, but rather scanty ; has a growth of dark hair on upper lip ; wears two valuable brooches of crushed opal in glass tubes, with three gold bars across ; false teeth. Took with them a quantity of luggage. Left Hamilton on 18th ultimo by train for Sydney. Offender arrived in New Zealand and was last heard of in Napier, and is said to have left there on the 25th May by train for Palmerston North or Wellington.
