New Plymouth.— 23rd ultimo, from che dwelling of JANE CALLAGHAN, Bell Block, a Jubilee half-sovereign. Suspicion attached to a man, name unknown, described as about forty years of age, height sft. 7in. or Bin , suppose! native of England, medium build, brown hair and moustache, brown complexion, clear prominent eyes; dressed in faded brown sac coat, dungaree trousers, soft-felt hat, swag in corn sack. Supposed gone toward Midhurst. Breaking and entering.

Stratford. —Between 11th and 13th ultimo, the property of SAMUEL JAMES RAWLES, farmer, a set of heavy black leather gig harness, nearly new, silver-mounted, traces strongly made, eight stiches to the inch ; value, £7 10s. Suspicion attached to George Hicks and Willian Dolan, who were recently convicted of stealing harness. Description : First, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 4in., a farm labourer, slight build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, light-blue eyes, fair moustache. Second, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., a labourer, dark complexion, grey eyes, clean shaved.

Stratford. WAY-STATION, at Midhurst, was broken into, and a letter addressed to A. DICKENSON, stolon. The letter contained a cheque for £2, drawn by Harwood and Treeby on Bank of New Zealand, Opunake, in favour of A. Dickenson.
