INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.

Sydney. —23rd December last, inquiry for Archibald Mortimer, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New South Wales, stout build, fair hair and complexion. He left Sydney about three months ago, supposed for New Zealand, where he has two uncles, named Eli and Robert Churchill, farmers, and members of the Salvation Army. Inquiry at the instance of Mary McCabe, with a view of compelling him to support his illegitimate child. (04/23.)

Newtown.— A warrant has been issued by the Newtown Bench for the arrest of William Gharles Fry, charged with wife-desertion. Description: Age forty-five, height 5 ft. 3 in. or 4 in., thin build, dark compLxion, dark hair and moustache turning grey ; wore a black-serge suit and black pee-wee hat; a blacksmith. Washington (America). —12th ultimo, for larceny and escaping from custody, John Peterson, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 9Jin., native of Germany, 1671 b. weight, medium build, fair complexion, greenish-blue eyes, darkbrown hair, reddish-brown moustache, a number of teeth out in front and in lower and upper jaws, large hands and fingers. Will probably be found round race-tracks and billiard-rooms.
