Infanticide.

Dunedin. —On the 27th ultimo the dead body of a newly born female child was found in a right-of-way off High Street, wrapped in brown paper. Dr. Gordon McDonald gave evidence to the effect “ That the child was full grown and well preserved, and that there was a mark round the neck, as if it had been subjected to pressure by a handkerchief or wide bandage.” The jury returned a verdict, “ That death was caused by strangulation by some person or persons unknown.”
