Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
Waihi.— James Adams is charged on warrant with deserting his wife, Agnes Adams, since the 11th ultimo. Description : About twenty - seven years of age, about oft. 8 in. high, slightly lame, walks with a stick, small dark moustache; dressed in dark suit and large black-felt hat. He left Waihi taking his three-year-old son and his bicycle with him, supposed for Auckland.
Wellington.— Winnie Kirwin is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of her illegitimate child. Description: A native of England, barmaid, twentyfour years of age, looks older, about 5 ft. 5 in. or 6 in. high, medium build, fair complexion, dark hair, rather large mouth; generally wears dark clothes.

Wellington.— James Melvin Mackenzie, charged with failing to provide for the maintenance of his wife and children: Warrant cancelled.
Mount Cook (Wellington). — Edward Brenfield is charged on warrant with deserting his wife, Katherine Brenfield, since the 11th ultimo. Description : A native of England, carpenter or bricklayer, about thirty years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. high, fresh complexion, stout build, fair hair, grey eyes, clean-shaved except small sandy moustache, small wart between eyebrows; usually wears a blue sac coat and vest, light trousers, and soft brown-felt hat.
(See Police Gazette, 1903, page 92.) Timaru.— John Mclnnes, charged with disobeying an order of Court, has been arrested by Detective T. Livingstone, Dunedin police.
Christchurch. — Samuel Reid is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child. Description: A native of Christchurch, ploughman and labourer, thirty-two years of age, thin build, 5 ft. 6in. high, very dark complexion, black straight hair, grey eyes, nose slightly turned up, clean-shaved except moustache.
Dunedin. — Frederick Charles Palmer is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child. Description : A native of Dunedin, printer, about thirty years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. or 7 in. high, stout build, fair complexion and hair, fair moustache only, hazel eyes ; fond of racing ; was employed in the New Zealand Times office, Wellington, and on the Tablet, Dunedin.
Dunedin.— James William Robinson is charged on warrant with deserting his wife, Louisa Robinson, since the 20th ultimo. Description : A bootmaker, usually works as a labourer, forty-eight years of age, 5 ft. 6in. high, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, light-brown moustache only, blue eyes, anchor on right forearm, has had an injury to his nose ; dressed in dark-tweed suit and hard black-felt hat. (See Police Gazette , 1898, pages 19 and 83.) He sometime! takes the name of Williams.
Orepuki. — Martin Joseph Forde is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child. Description : A native of New Zealand, labourer, twenty-two years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, medium build, dark-brown hair, small dark moustache only ; usually wears a grey-tweed suit and brown Dr. Jim hat, and silver watch-chain with greenstone pendant. Parents reside at Te Tua. Complainant: Clarence May Newton.
Invercargill. Horace Church is charged with deserting his wife, Elizabeth G. Church, since June, 1902. Description : A native of New Zealand, labourer, twenty-six years of age, sft. 11-Jin. high, dark complexion, black hair, grey eyes. (See Police Gazette , 1900, page 286.)
Brisbane.— George Moore is charged on warrant issued at Townsville with deserting his illegitimate child there since the sth February last. Description: A carpenter and carriage- builder, recently in the employ of the Railway Department at Townsville, about twenty-three years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, stout build, fair complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved ; generally dressed in a dark suit and straw hat. He is supposed to have come to New Zealand, and may seek employment in the Railway Department. Photograph filed in the Commissioner’s office. If he consents to an order being made for 7s. 6d. a week for twelve months the warrant will not be executed. (03/982.)
