(See Police Gazette, 1899, page 167.) Auckland.— Mary Ann Bryant, charged with deserting her child, has been arrested by Constable J. Finnerty, Freeman’s Bay police. Case dismissed.

Auckland. —Henry Thomas Spain, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the maintenance of his wife, has been arrested by Constable A. A. Potter, Hamilton police.
Dannevirke.— John Wilkins is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of Court to pay 14s. a week towards the maintenance of his children. Description : A native of England, labourer, about thirty-nine years of age, 6 ft. high, sallow complexion, medium build, brown hair, dark eyes, clean-shaved except long dark moustache, scar on right cheek; dressed in dark coat and vest, grey-tweed trousers, and drab Dr. Jim hat with broad brim.
Lower Hutt -— Frank Mikoz is charged on warrant with deserting his wife, Isabella Mikoz, at Taita, since the 23rd instant. Description: A native of Greymouth (where his father still resides), labourer, twenty-five years of age, about 5 ft. 9 in. high, medium build, sallow complexion, dark hair, clean-shaved except slight fair moustache : dressed in serge suit, and had a violin in case with him. Wellington.— Albert Edward Hunt is charged on warrant with deserting his wife since the 13th instant. Description : Colonial, bricklayer and labourer, twenty-one years of age, about 5 ft. 6 in. high, medium build, fair complexion and hair, small fair moustache ; dressed in dark coat and vest, light-tweed trousers, Alpine hat, crape on arm. He is also charged with theft (see this issue of Gazette).
Manners Street (Wellington).-— William Martin Hatfield is charged on warrant of commitment to the Terrace Gaol, Wellington, for one month in default of paying £l3 10s. due on an order made for the maintenance of his children. Description : A native of Lyttelton, New Zealand, cook, thirty-seven years of age, 5 ft. sJin. high, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, large nose, large scar on right leg ; usually dressed in dark sac suit and skull-cap. (See Police Gazette, 1903, page 9.) He left Wellington about the 28th ultimo, and has relations at Pipiriki.

Greymouth.— James Francis Bergin, charged with wifedesertion, has been arrested by Acting-Detectives J. Fahey and T. Quirke, Christchurch police.
Christchurch.— Thomas Richards is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his children. Description : A native of England, brickmaker, fifty years of age, 5 ft. sJin. high, swarthy complexion, medium build, brown hair, blue eyes, large nose. (See Police Gazette, 1901, page 33.)
