Missing Friends.
Georgb McLeod is inquired for by the Invercargill police, that a copy of order under the Destitute Persons Act may be served on him. Description : A native of Scotland, miner, twenty-nine years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. high, smart, active appearance, dark swarthy complexion, boil marks on neck, third finger of right-hand broken ; small dark moustache only. (See Police Gazette, 1902, page 228.) Was seen in Invercargill about the end of August last. If found, the Inspector of Police, Invercargill, to be informed by wire.
Peter Jennings is inquired for by the Waiuku police. Description: About seventy years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, grey hair, brown eyes, slight build, stooped, one tooth in upper jaw, clean shaved ; was in the 58th Regiment; dressed in black coat vest and trousers, and faded straw hat, always carried his swag, and travelled about the Waikato district, arriving at Waiuku at the end of each month for his old-age pension.
Griffith Entwhistle is inquired for by the Wellington police at the instance of his mother. Description : A native of England, jeweller, seventeen years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, slight build, dark complexion. On the 6th ultimo was at Silverstream, going towards the Wairarapa, and may make for Eoxton or Levin, where he has a brother employed in a flax-mill.
George Parry is inquired for by the Riverton police with a view of serving him with a summons for assault. Description : A native of New Zealand, labourer, about twenty-four years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in. high, dark complexion, small dark moustache only, coarse features, strong build, a returned trooper ; has relatives at Invercargill and the Bluff.
William Dalziel is inquired for by the Palmerston South police at the instance of Ins mother. Description : A native of New Zealand, fifteen years of age, about sft. high, slight build, dark hair, dressed in light-grey tweed coat and cap, long dark trousers ; may wear a blue serge knicker suit, had a pea-rifle with him. He left Palmerston South on the 20th ultimo, accompanied by a boy named Todd, and may make for Black’s Point, Reef ton.
