Auckland.— Fred Wilson is charged on warrant of commitment to Mount Eden Gaol for forty-eight hours in default of paying £1 35., fine and costs, for a breach of the borough by-laws. Description: English, a cabdriver, thirty-two years of age, about 5 ft. 5 in. high, slight build, dark complexion and hair, very dark moustache. Supposed to have gone to northern Wairoa.

Auckland. —James Thompson, charged with threatening behaviour to Constable Hugh Cox, has been arrested by Constable P. Ross, Auckland police, and fined £2 or fourteen days’ hard labour.

Wanganui. —Ernest Henderson, or Anderson, is charged with false pretences on Mrs. Sarah Nichol, boardinghousekeeper, on the 22nd ultimo. Description : Supposed colonial, about twenty-two years of age, 5 ft. 9 in. or 10 in. high, medium build, fair complexion and hair, small blue eyes rather deeply set, very narrow tbfcr features, rather pointed chin, no hair on face ; dressed in blue- or blackdiagonal coat and vest very much worn, dark-grey saddletweed trousers, and grey cap. He obtained two weeks’ board and lodgings by falsely representing he had a cheque for £l5O for busbfelling. No warrant.

Hunterville.— John Owen is charged on warrant of commitment to Wanganui Gaol for forty-eight hours in default of paying £1 35., fine and costs now due for a breach of the by-laws. Description: A native of Sydney, a tinsmith, twenty-eight years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. high, fair complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, medium build, recently clean-shaved; usually dressed in navy-blue sao suit and hard black-felt bat. He left Mangaweka on the 15th ultimo, and is well known in the Pemberton district.

Wellington. — Marion Scott is charged on warrant with absconding from bail. Description: A native of New Zealand, barmaid, twenty-four years of age, sft. Gin. high, stout build, fresh complexion, dark hair, blue eyes. She was committed for trial to the next sittings of the Supreme Court, Wellington, for theft, and was admitted to bail in the sum of £2O.

Ashburton. —Charles Smith Todd, labourer, reports that at 11.10 p.m., Ist instant, he was assaulted and robbed by two men, names unknown, of a new £1 note, 19s. in silver, a new two bladed Pampa knife, and a pawn ticket for a silver watch and two silver rings pledged at Sbrimpton’e, Christchurch; name on pawn-ticket, Tod. Description: First—Supposed native of Sydney, about thirty-five years of age, 5 ft. Bin. or 9 in. high, stout build, fresh complexion, brown hair, cleanshaved except brown moustache, one side of face swollen ; dressed in light-tweed suit, light Dr. Jim hat, boots much worn. He held the complainant round the neck while the other man robbed him. Identifiable, as he got a drink and tobacco from Todd in the Somerset Hotel the same evening. No description can be given of the second man.

Dunedin. — David Barclay is charged on warrant with attempted buggery on Lawrence O’Brien, a school-boy, on the sth instant, at Woodhaugh. Description : A native of New Zealand, a labourer, twenty-seven years of age, about 5 ft. 4 in. high, stout build, fair complexion, round face, blue eyes, very fair hair, fair moustache only, projects out; usually wears a Dr. Jim hat.
