Deserters from His Majesty’s Service.
From H.M.S. “ Boomerang," at Sydney. On 29th August, 1901. George G. Dolby, stoker, thirty-one years of age, a native of England, 5 ft. in. high, light-brown hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion.
From H.M.S. “ Katoomba," at Sydney. On 9th September, 1901. Richard Hayes, A. 8., twenty-four years of age, a native of Ireland, 5 ft. 4 in. high, dark-brown hair, darkbrown eyes, fresh complexion, large scar on right shin.
From H.M.S. "Phoebe,” at Sydney. On 29th August, 1901.
Richard Nicholls, stoker, thirty-one years of age, a native of England, 5 ft. 9in. high, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, fresh complexion, girl and dagger on left arm, crucifix and cherubs on breast, two lots of flowers on right arm. A reward not exceeding £3 will be paid for the apprehension of each of the above deserters if arrested within two years.
From H.M.S. “ Archer,” at Wellington. (See Police Gazette, 1901, page 214.) Thomas William Beecham, deserter from H.M.S. “Archer,” has been arrested by Constable T. O’Rourke, Otaki police, on information supplied by Acting-Detective F. S. Cox, Wellington police.
