Auckland. —On the 10th December, 1900, a cheque for £7, purporting to be signed by S. Yaile and Sons, solicitors, was presented to and cashed by James Samuel Dickson, manager for George Foulds, Queen Street. It has since been declared a forgery. Offender is about twenty-one years of age, about 5 ft. 7 in. high, medium build, fair hair and complexion, smart active appearance ; dressed in blue coat and vest, light-coloured trousers, and hard black hat; may have small fair moustache. Robert Dunstall suspeoted, but could not be positively identified.

Auckland. —Frederick Poulson, charged with threatening behaviour, has been arrested by Constable A. McDonnell, Auckland police, on information supplied by Constable Hollis, and fined.

Hamilton. —J. F. Peterson, alias George Miller, alias S. P. Roberts, alias Johnston Warner, oharged with false pretences on Thomas Floyd and John W. H. Bright, has been arrested by Constable J. Connell, Lyttelton police, on a charge of false pretences at Wellington, and remanded there.

Wanganui. — Thomas Henry Cavanagh is oharged on warrant of commitment to Wanganui Gaol for twentyfour hours in default of paying ss. and costs for drunkenness. Description: A native of Ireland, a cook, fifty-six years of age, 5 ft. 10J in. high, stout build, fresh complexion, grey eyes, clean-shaved except moustache ; may be found working as kitchenman in a hotel. There is now due 12s.

Mount Cook (Wellington). — Frederick Williams is charged on warrant with false pretences on Amelia Sutherland on the 3rd December, 1900. Offender is supposed English, about twenty-six years of age, about sft. Gin. high, slight build, dark complexion, dark hair inclined to be curly, very delicate hands; was wearing dark clothes and a whitestraw hat. He obtained board and lodgings to the value of £1 14s. by falsely representing he was employed by the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company.

Christchurch. — A man, name unknown, indecently exposed himself on the 13th December, 1900, at Upper Riocarton, to Margaret Gaskill, school-girl, and others. Description: About forty years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in. high, dark hair and complexion, clean-shaved except dark moustache; wore gold spectacles ; dressed in light-grey suit, and slate-ooloured alpine hat, and tan boots ; was riding a dark-coloured bioycle. Supposed identifiable. No warrant.

Dunedin. — Edward Royl, alias Ryl, is charged on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Gaol for forty-eight hours in default of paying 10s. for a breach of the peace. Description: A native of New Zealand, a labourer, about nineteen years of age, slight build, shabby appearanoe, fair hair, sallow complexion, no hair on face; generally dressed in shabby dark-tweed clothes. The sum of 13s. is now due.

Dunedin. —Thomas Blunden, charged with default of fine for theft, has been arrested by Constable C. H. McGlone, and lodged in the Dunedin Gaol.
