Newcastle. — A warrant has been issued by the Newcastle Bench for the arrest of Sydney James Fox, charged with child-desertion. He is about nineteen years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. high, slight build, very fair complexion, blue eyes, deformed
or broken nose, has had an injury to hip, left side of face has been lanced; usually dressed in dark clothes. Complainant, Harriett A. Morris, at Belmont, near Newcastle. Defendant is said to be at Westport, New Zealand. If found he might possibly be induced to assist in maintaining his child.
Rape. Bega.— Warrants have been issued by the Bega Bench for the arrest of Joseph Twyford and Robert Twyford, oharged with committing a rape on Norah Ball, fifteen years and seven months of age, at Wyndham on the 13th July last. Joseph Twyford is twenty-one years of age, 5 ft. 10 in. or 11 in. high, rather stout build, face round, nose broad at bridge, fair complexion, small fair moustache, fair hair; believed dressed in brown-tweed suit, and brown soft-felt hat. Robert Twyford is twenty years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in. high, medium build, sallow complexion, small brown moustache, brown hair and eyes; wears dark-cheok tweed suit; the clothes described are their best. They are both miners. Both offenders absconded from Wyndham before warrants were issued, crossed the border into Victoria near Bendoc, and were seen at Goongerah Station on the 3rd instant, and
inquired way to Orbost; they were walking and carrying swags; believed to be making for Bairnsdale or Cunningham. Their ultimate destination supposed to be either Tasmania or New Zealand.
