Inspector and Sub-Inspector of Police appointed. Police Department, Wellington, Ist November, 1900. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following appointments in the New Zealand Police Force:— Sub-Inspector Ewen Macdonell to be an Inspector, and Sergeant Patrick Black to be a Sub-Inspector. Appointments to take effect from the Ist November, 1900. James McGowan.

Retirement.
Inspector McGovern, Francis, 31st October, 1900, with life-allowance of £240 per annum, under section 13 of “ The Police Provident Fund Act, 1899.” (1900/9.)
Rewards
Constable W. R. Lowry, No. 630, has been awarded £2 for services rendered in obtaining the conviction of Te Hauporoa. for sly-grog selling at Otorohanga. (00/1786.)
Constables W. R. Lowry, No. 630, £5; C. E. Hyde, No. 957, £5, and J. A. Mathew, No. 831, £7. The above amounts have been awarded for services rendered in obtaining convictions for sly-grog selling in the King-country. (00/1658.)
Sub-voucher Forms (No. 76a). (See Police Gazette , 1900, page 46.) It is requested that the above forms may be used by members of the Force when obtaining receipts for travelling or other expenses, such receipts, however, being required only for amounts exceeding ss. ( vide Treasury Regulation No. 97). Care is to be taken that each sub-voucher is numbered, and the number inserted in the proper column on the voucher to whioh it is attached.
