(See Police Gazette , 1900, page 140.) Thames. —James Monteith McLaren’s cow has been found ; not stolen.
(See Police Gazette , 1900, page 141.) Herbertville. —Theft of William Jones’s horse : A man named J. Cording was paid off from Whangahau Station on the 26th May, and afterwards had an order on Murray 7 Roberts for £6. He answers description of offender.
Foxton. —George Hughes, settler, reports stolen from the yard of Stansell’s Hotel, on the 7th instant, a dark creamcoloured gelding, 15 hands high, no brands, dark points, shod on front feet only, a front upper tooth out, thick mane, very dark streak along the back ; an old English saddle, torn at stitching on off side of seat, rusty stirrup-irons, splitleather girth ; and a nearly new single-rein colonial bridle, both cheek-straps broken, snaffle-bit: total value, £7.
