Dates of Warrants. In future, when a warrant is issued, the date of issue is to be stated in the crime report concerning the offence.
Stolen Bicycles, Attention is directed to the notice in Police Gazette, 1899, page 13G. In describing bicycles it should be stated whether they are ladies’ or gentlemen’s. Stolen Watches. In describing watches it should be stated whether they are open-faced, hunting, double-cased, or half-hunting, the term “ double-cased, ” being reserved for those watches whose outer case is removed in order to wind, “ half-hunting ” implying a very small glass in the metal cover of the dial. [Note. — These instructions are published at page 1 of each year’s Gazette, but are very often disregarded, the term “doublecased ” being frequently used instead of “ hunting.”] Rewards. Constable A. Skinner, No. 924, Auckland police, has been awarded £8 for arresting Henry Jones, a deserter from H.M.S. “ Royalist.” (00/35.) Constables P. F. Carlyon, No. 205, and J. Bree, No. 338, Wellington District police, have been awarded £4 each for arresting Charles Owen Osborne, a deserter from H.M.S. “ Tauranga.” (00/20.)
