Daniel Callaghan is inquired for by the Invercargill police. Description: Irish, works as boots, &0., at hotels, thirty-six years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. high, inclined to be stout, light-brown hair beard whiskers and moustache, eyes weak and usually inflamed, very fond of drink. Last heard of at Gore, and is said to have left there in July last. Inquiry /is with a view of serving him with a summons for deserting his two children.

James Bell is inquired for by the Christchurch police with the view of compelling him to support his wife. Description : Scotch, a labourer, forty-one years of age, 5 ft. 6f in. high, fresh complexion, brown hair turning grey, blue eyes, medium nose, anchor and star tattooed on left arm, and J on left hand.
