(See Police Gazette , 1898, page 106.)/ Auckland. —John Ready, charged with wife-desertion, has been arrested by Constable N. Scott, Aratapu police, and remanded to Auckland.
(See Police Gazette, 1896, page 183; and 1897, page 45.) Auckland. —Alexander Melrose, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the support of his wife, has been arrested by Constable B. Sheehan, Whangarei police, on information supplied from the district office, and remanded to Auckland.
\Velliwgton. —fGeorge Greenwood is charged on warrant of commitment ifcVjsix weeks’ labour for disobeying an order of Court to paytlUs. mnweft]| towards the support of his wife. Description : agent, forty years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. high, ylwM complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, sandy moustilcty® only,lrespectable appearance. Last heard of at Auckland, where*be is well known to the police, but no trace of him can be obtained there. If he pays £5 17s. 6d., arrears to the 2nd June last, he may be discharged.

Christchurch. —John Joseph King is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of Court to pay 7s. a week towards the support of his illegitimate child. Description : liish, a travelling saddler, thirty-two years of age, 5 ft. 1 in. high, slight build, pale complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, long features, dark moustache. (See Police Gazette, 1898, pages 45 and 107.) Last seen in Christchurch about two months ago. The sum of £1 7s. is in arrears.

Has two brothers, blacksmiths, at Ashburton, and a sister, Mrs. Preece, at Timaru.
Christchurch.— John Percivai Kerr is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child. Description: A native of New Zealand, a sailor, twenty years of age, slight build, sft. 6 in. or 7 in. high, fair complexion, brown hair, clean shaved. His father is a stoker on one of the Union Company’s steamers.
