Henry Kleine is charged on warrant with larceny as a servant of £26, moneys of the Bank of New Zealand, C. F. Thomas, manager, Prell’s Buildings, Collins Street, Melbourne, at Melbourne, on or about the 26th ultimo. Description : Thirty-three years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. or 9 in. high, slight but strong, medium complexion, thin face, rather prominent cheek-bones, bottom lip drops, medium moustache only; wore a blue or black suit and a black boxer hat. Was employed as messenger. He was last seen at about 6 a.m. on the 2nd instant, and is supposed to have left Melbourne by one of the morning trains. The money consisted of one £lO note on the Bank of Victoria, one £lO note on the Royal Bank, one £1 note on the Union Bank, one £1 note on the Bank of Australasia, one £1 note on the Colonial Bank, one £1 note on the London Bank, and two £1 notes on one of the local banks. The money was in a registered letter obtained by Kleine from the General Post Office, Melbourne. His arrest is desirable in any of the other colonies. —0.3856. 3rd May, 1898.
