Deserting Wives and Families, &c.

Auckland. —Reuben Sanders is charged on warrant of apprehension with failing to contribute towards the support of his father, George Sanders. Description: Colonial, a bushman, twenty years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. or 7 in. high, stout *build, black hair.

Auckland. —William McCullum, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the maintenance of his wife, has been arrested by the Coromandel police.

Auckland.— Joseph Kucher, charged with failing to provide for his illegitimate child, has been arrested by Constable N. Scott, Aratapu police, and remanded to Auckland.

Thames. —Henry Driver on warrant issued on 2nd August last with to prasade for the future maintenance of Description : A native of Ner py ijte r, about twenty-two years of age, sft. build, light-brown hair, fair complexion, smfi fair moustache. Complainant, Mary Ada Aro, Parawai.

Wanganui.— Edward Walker Hyndman is charged on warrant with failing to provide for his illegitimate child by Harriett Castle, since the 22nd September last. Description : A native of Sydney, New South Wales, a labourer, about twenty-six years of age, 5 ft. 8 in. high, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, shaved except small fair moustache, blue eyes; usually wears dark clothes and soft hat. Is said to be employed as a billiard-marker in Melbourne, and to be identical with a man of the same name who had a Court case with a woman there respecting a watch and chain about three months ago. Complainant is unable to pay or guarantee expenses of extradition.

Waipawa. —John Anderson icy charged on .jvarrant with intending to leave the colon makltvf provision for the future maintenance of ifnis child. Description: A New ZpahjoM, a/ stableman, twenty-two years otfs&M >rgjn. high, slight active athletic build, dark hair, square forehead, small eyes,£gmall palrthinoace and features; usually wears a dark sac suit, harts dark-felt hat, or dark slouched hat. May have gone to Cnristchurch, where he has a sister in service, or to Temuka, where he was formerly employed in Nicholson’s stables. Complainant, Fanny Dyson.

James Darnell, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the support of his children, has been arrested by Constable T.. J. Drake, Dannevirke police, on information supplied from Napier by Constable T. J. O’Brien, and remanded to Christchurch. He was going under the name of Edward Stratton.

Christchurch.— John Joseph King, charged with failing to provide for his illegitimate child, has been arrested by Constable Joseph Stanley, Rakaia police.

Dunedin. —George Hamilton, charged with wife-desertion, was arrested at Auckland on his arrival from Sydney by the s.s. “ Westralia ” on the Ist instant, and has been remanded to Dunedin. (97/1180.)
