Station Closed. Kamo, Auckland District. (96/82T.) Rewards for Arresting Naval Deserters. (Circular No. 19/96.) Circular No. 15, published in the Police Gazette of 13th November, 1895, is hereby cancelled, and it is notified for general information that the sum of £5 will be paid for the arrest of each deserter from Her Majesty’s ships on the New Zealand Station. Broberg, No. 689, Dunedin police, has been awarded £2 from the Reward Fund for special services rendered in arresting and obtaining the conviction of James Burt, sentenced to two years’ labour for housebreaking. (96/897.) The Marine Department has awarded Constables D. Jackson, No. 622; and C. J. Moore, No. 588, Ashburton police, £1 and 10s. respectively, for services in obtaining the conviction of William Lewis and George Brown for illegally having a seal in their possession. (96/885.) Constable W. Bern, No. 301, Thames police, has been awarded £4 by the Auckland Acclimatisation Society for obtaining two convictions for breaches of the Animals Protection Act.
