Cambridge (Waikato). —Frank Dowrick is charged on warrant with having, at Mangawhara, on the 7tli instant, stolen an old colonial-made saddle, patched on pommel, right knee-pad worn through, old square-pattern three-bar stirrup-irons, ordinary stirrup-leathers ; value, £1 10s.; the property of David Shaw, contractor. Offender is a colonial, a labourer, twenty years of age, sft. Bin. high, stout build, dark complexion, carbuncles on face, very small fair moustache, dark hair, grey eyes, small broad nose; dressed in yellowish-grey saddle-tweed trousers, dark-tweed coat, lace-up boots, and soft-felt hat. He also stole a black thick-set cob gelding, six years old, branded NK (conjoined, N indistinct), large star on forehead, collar-marked, value £7, the property of Kauau Okauia; and a bridle with square silver buckles and silver bit, the property of Charles Pickering, value not stated. He is supposed to have gone to Tauranga, via Te Aroha, Paeroa, and Waihi. Other charges pending.

Kawakawa.— John Wyatt, Towai, reports stolen from off his horse, during the night of the 3rd instant, a nearly-new saddle, two Ds on each side, with stirrup-leathers and irons; an imitation leopard-skin saddle-cloth, bound with striped material; and a single-reined bridle with steel bit: value, £5.

Auckland.— Robert Collier, charged with stealing a coat from the shop of Martha Lindsay (recovered), has been arrested by Constable P. T. McMahon, Auckland police, and sentenced to two months’ labour.

Auckland.— John Langford Crumpe reports stolen from Victoria Wharf, Devonport, on the 31st ultimo or Ist instant, a flat-bottomed boat, Bft. long, iron knees, painted blue outside and red inside; value, £l.

Oneiiunga.— Mrs. Elizabeth Wright, Penrose, reports stolen from an outhouse, on the 21st or 22nd ultimo, a saddle, about half-worn, one knee-pad new, white metal stirrupirons, double-leather girth ; value, £3.

Gisborne. — Mrs. Sarah Lewis, fruiterer, reports stolen from her shop, on the 4th instant, a red morocco-leather purse, nearly new, about sin. long, white-nickel fastening, three compartments, one of them having a similar fastening, containing three £5 notes, four £1 notes, a half-sove-reign, and about 10s. in silver.

Wanganui.— Alexander Hogg, charged with breaking into and stealing £7 from the dwelling of James Gordon and Albert Alerson, bakers, has been arrested by Constable P. T. McMahon, Auckland police, and sentenced to fourteen days’ labour. Offender was going under the name of Alexander Henderson.

Dunedin. — Robert Wilson and Co., 20, Bond Street, report that on the 7th or Bth instant their warehouse was broken into, and four boxes of Juno tobacco (221 b. each), value £2l 65., stolen. The Customs stamp is dated 3rd January, 1896.

Dunedin.— Richard Sydney English, fireman, Bradshaw Street, South Dunedm, reports stolen from a shed, on the 6th or 7th instant, a single-barrelled muzzle-loading gun, piece broken off the small end of ramrod ; value, £1 ss.
