Missing Friends.
John Wooby is inquired for by his wife, Charlotte Wooby, Harrington Street, Hobart. Description: English, a goldminer, about twenty-eigbt years of age, about sft. Bin. high, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair and moustache, has a white patch on back of head. If found, information to be sent to Inspector of Police, Dunedin.
Henry Exworthy is missing from Patutalii, Poverty Bay, since the 25th ultimo. Description: English, a labourer, about thirty-four years of age, about sft. 6in. high, stout build, bow-legged, fair hair and complexion, grey eyes, large fair moustache, strong muscular appearance ; dressed in a dark tweed coat and vest, dark saddle-tweed trousers, soft blackfelt hat, and light watertight boots; had a leather strap on one wrist. Was last seen between Makaraka and Gisborne on the above date.
Ada Foster, or Coles, is inquired for by her mother, Mrs. Foster, 1, Balmoral Road, Leyton Road, Leyton, Essex, England. She was living with Alfred Coles, at Foxton, in 1887, and then took up with another man, whose name is at present unknown, and with whom she left for Woodville. Coles states he heard from her some time during last year, when she gave her address as “ Post-office, Wellington,” and signed herself “Miss Ada Foster.” She is described as about twenty-eigbt years of age, about sft. 6in. high, slight build, dark complexion, long thin face, tidy dress, of loose habits, and fond of drink. No trace of her can be obtained in Wellington.
Daniel Johnston is inquired for by John Rosemond, East Terrace, Walker-on-Tyne. Description: A native of Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland, a ploughman, about fortyone years of age, about sft. 9in. high, dark hair. Last heard of in Otago about fourteen years ago. (95/703.)
John Arthur Fleming is inquired for by his brother, Thomas B. Fleming, Railway Stationmaster, Pukekohe. Description : A native of New Zealand, formerly a clerk and telegraphist, but has recently taken to manual labour, about twenty-four years of age, but looks younger, sft. llsin. high, fair complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, straight prominent nose, small regular white teeth, small mouth, light moustache, medium build, a hearty ringing laugh, good address; has a habit of cutting a piece of wood in off moments.
