Fire Brigades.
(Circular No. 1/94.) Inspectors in charge of districts are requested to furnish the following information for the Registrar-General: — 1. Place where brigade is situated. 2. Crime Reports
(Circular No. 2/94.) It is particularly requested that in all crime reports the names of persons and places may be spelt correctly and written legibly, the Christian name being given with the surname whenever possible, and written in full to prevent mistakes. The occupation of the person upon whom the offence is committed should also be stated. A. Hume, Commissioner of Police. Wellington, 19th January, 1894.
Reioards.
Constable P. Moore, Lyttelton Police, has been awarded £1 for arresting a straggler from H.M.S. “ Curacoa.” (94/59.)
Constable R. Crawford, Timaru Police, has been awarded £3 for f arresting an absentee from H.M.S. “ Lizard.” (94/65.) The following amounts have been awarded to members of the Force in recognition of their services in obtaining convictions for sly grog-selling:— Constable F. A. Moore, Kamo, £3. (94/8.) , F. O’Leary, Ohingaiti, £3. (94/47.) „ A. Reddell, Tologa Bay, £3. (94/49.) „ J. D. Leece, Ophir, £3. (94/73.)
Sergeant N. Kiely, Tauranga police, has been awarded £1 by the Acclimatisation Society for obtaining a conviction for illegally shooting pheasants. (94/94.)
