Rewards. Constable F. A. Moore, Kamo Police, has been awarded £3 for services in securing the conviction of Jeffery Hunter, of Mangakahia, for sly grog-selling. (93/692.) Sergeant J. O’Malley and Constable G. Fitzgerald, Lyttelton Police, have been awarded £2 each by the Customs Department for services in securing the conviction of J. Flynn for smuggling cigarettes from H.M.S. “ Katoomba,” on the 17th ultimo. (93/259.) The Customs Department has made the following awards to the Hokitika Police for their services in the cases against Nelley and Ecclesfield for breaches of “ The Distillation Act, 1868 ”: Sergeant C. Fraser, £l2 ; Constable A. Bennett, £7 ; and Constable A. Baker, £3. (93/259.) Constable Trbacy, Dunedin Police, has been awarded £3 from the Reward Fund for tact and zeal displayed by him in the detection and arrest of James Phillips, convicted on two charges of wilfully and obscenely exposing his person.
