Offences Not Otherwise Described.
Pahiatua.—Andrew Dawson is charged on warrantor commitment to the Terrace Gaol, Wellington, for twelve months’ labour, in default of finding sureties to keep the peace. Description: Colonial, a well-known pugilist and convicted thief, tw'enty-seven years of age, Gft. high, fair hair and com-i plexion, and small moustache only, medium build, weak eyes; dressed in dark-tweed suit and hard brown-felt hat. (See also Police Gazette, 1892, page 22.) He was fined £1 on the 11th ultimo for assaulting one Albert E. Costall, and allowed four days in which to obtain sureties, but has failed to do so. May make for Auckland, where liis mother lives.

Tauranga.—James Blake, for false pretences on W. A. Slade, has been arrested by Constable W. Murray, Rotorua Police.

Auckland. —Hugh Mattison, alias Eugene Matteson, &c., has returned from Sydney, and been arrested by Constable W. M. Jones. Released on obtaining the required sureties to keep the peace.
Palmerston North.—The Railway Commissioners report that, between G and 9.45 p.m. on the 17tli ultimo, a block of wood was wilfully placed across the line at Bunnythorpe.
Oxford (Canterbury).—The Railway Commissioners report that, between 9 p.m. on the 2nd and G a m. on tho 6th instant, the line was wilfully obstructed by placing a sleeper across it.
