Missing Friends.
William Marshall is inquired for at the instance of his wife, Mrs. M. A. Marshall, High Street, Ararat, Victoria, whom he left in Dunedin, in 1890. Description : Scotch, a baker, forty-three years of age, sft. Oin. high, stout build, light-brown hair, small fair moustache only, has two thumbs
on right hand, very talkative. Was in Dunedin about the 2nd ultimo, and is supposed to have gone up country to bake or cook on a station. Information to Inspector of Police, Dunedin.
William Stewart is inquired for by the Kaiapoi Police with a view of compelling him to support his wife and child, who are now maintained by the Charitable Aid Board. Description: A native of County Antrim, a dealer an<j( labourer, thirty-six years of age, sft. 7£in. high, stout build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair beard whiskers and moustache, grey eyes, medium nose. He was discharged from Lyttelton Gaol in September last (see Police Gazette, 1892, page 170), and was seen in Christchurch soon after. He then wore a dark coat and vest, grey trousers, and soft black hat. Is well known at Ashburton, and has two brothers (one a contractor) at Oamaru. May go to Cameron’s Station, Methven, where he was employed some time ago.
