GLASGOW', Governor. ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of August, 1892. Present: His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS an Order in Council prohibiting the exportation from the colony of all oysters known as Ostrea purpurea, Ostrea glomerata, Ostrea mordax, or rock oysters, shore oysters, drift or mangrove oysters, or by whatever name they may be locally known respectively, taken or produced in the waters of the colony, was made under the powers conferred by “ The Fisheries Encouragement Act, 1885 ” (hereinafter termed “the said Act),” on the twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 52, of the thirtieth day of the same month : And whereas it is desirable to revoke the said recited Order in Council: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council of the twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette. Police Gaoler appointed. Department of Justice (Prisons Branch), Wellington, 2nd August, 1892. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Constable Patrick John Dunne to be Police Gaoler at Mongonui, vice Constable J. W. Moar, transferred. A. J. CADMAN, Minister of Justice.

Clerks of Courts appointed. Department of Justice, Wellington, 10th August, 1892. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Constable Patrick John Dunne to be Clerk of the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Mongonui, and also to be Clerk of the Licensing Committee for the District of Mongonui, from this date, vice Constable J. Moar, transferred; and Constable William Coughlan to be Clerk of the Resident Magistrate’s Court at Awanui, from the 4th instant, vice Sergeant Villars, transferred. A. J. CADMAN.

Person appointed to grant Licenses in Special Licensing District. Department of Justice, Wellington, 10th August, 1892. HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint James Owen Wilson, J.P., to be a person to grant licenses within the Special Licensing District of Jackson’s Bay, vice D. Macfarlane, R.M. A. J. CADMAN.

Inspector of Weights and Measures appointed , Palmerston

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Sergeant James Slattery to bo an Inspector of Weights and Measures, under “ The Weights and Measures Act, 1868,” for the Boroughs of Palmerston North and Feilding, and for the Counties of Oroua and Manawatu.

Gamble; also to appoint Sergeant Edmond Villars to be an Inspector of Weights and Measures for the Counties of Wanganui and Waitotara and Borough of Wanganui, vice Sergeant William Lyons ; and also to appoint Sergeant Martin Dudley Stagpoole to be an Inspector of Weights and Measures for the County of Hawera and for the Borough of Hawera, vice Sergeant Quinn.
