Extract from Victoria Police Gazette.
(From Gazette, 1892, page 143.) (See also New Zealand Police Gazette, 1892, page 33.) Edwyn Charles. —Further particulars are now published, viz.: Thirty-three years of age, sft. 4in. high, thick-set, square shoulders, dark hair, dark-blue-grey eyes, small feet and hands, long dark eyelashes, broad square forehead, thin nose ; a good rider. Supposed to have married in Dunedin. He wrote from there in September, 1886, and asked to have his letter answered within the month, as he was thinking of going to Queensland. A letter sent to him soon after was returned through the Post Office, and nothing has since been heard of him.—O. 1206 a, 24th May, 1892.
