(See Police Gazette, 1892, page 23.) Winton. —Thomas Kennedy’s gelding has been found

William Cameron, alias Joseph White, charged with the larceny as a bailee of Thomas Gilbert’s pony, saddle, and bridle, has been arrested by Constable A. Cruickshank, Lower Hutt Police, and remanded to Woodville. Saddle recovered by W’anganui Police. Offender sold the lot on the sth January, 1891, to Angus McDonald, hotelkeeper, Wangaeliu, who disposed of the horse, about two months after, to Frank G. D. Pittock. The latter, who goes by the name of William Pittock, ieTt Turakina on the 15th January last for Wellington, via Sandon, riding the animal, and said he was going to the Hot Springs with his sister, expected from England. He is English, nineteen years of age, sft. 54in. high, slender build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, two upper front teeth out. (See also Police Gazette, 1891, page 70.)
Hastings.—Hugh Campbell, Poukawa, reports stolen from his paddock, between the 20tli January last and the 10tli ultimo, ten long-wool Lincoln ewes, shorn, left ears slit, causing the lower parts to hang down. Also about thirty long-wool lambs, mixed sexes, unshorn, rams slit in right ears and small notch out of left ears, ewes vice versa ; value £4O. Identification doubtful.
Masterton. —Septimus Mawley, Ditton, Wangaeliu, reports stolen from a paddock, between the 17th and 22nd ultimo, seventy Lincoln wethers, two-toothed, top quarter of near ear taken off, and a small half-circle punched out of the same ear on the lower side; value £3B 10s.
Aratapu.—Thomas Neild reports stolen from his slaughteryard, Arapohue, on the 25th or 26th ultimo, a sheep, about GOlb. weight; value 18s.
