(From Gazette, 1892, pages 44 and 62.) Edwyn Charles is inquired for by his mother, Porlock, Taunton, England, and Thomas Stock, 476, Flinders Street A West, Melbourne. His last letter home was dated the 28th S( May, 1886, from Gisborne, New Zealand. He was formerly"'?, in the employment of Mr. Joseph Stock, merchant, Inver- fl. cargill. Letters addressed to Charles, at Gisborne, sub- r sequent to May, 1886, were returned through the dead-letter 1 office. He is said to have had an intention of going to Queensland. —0. 1206, 6th February, 1892.

John Oakley is charged on warrant with obtaining £2 by false pretences from Andrew L. Clark, produce-dealer, Mayfield, Abbotsford, on the 17th instant, at 138, Church Street, Richmond. Description : About twenty-three or twenty-four years of age, sft. 6in. high, medium build, very fair complexion, fair moustache only; wore a black-serge coat and vest, light trousers, and black-boxer hat. May leave by one of the New Zealand boats. Offender represented that he wanted £2 to pay for some harness that he had bought for his employer.—o. 1633, 20th February, 1892.
