Stolen on the 17th or 18th May last, from a paddock at Masterton, a dark-brown gelding, aged, 15 or 16 hands high, small star on forehead, brandecTß supposed on near shoulder, broken knees, value £8 ; the property of Stephen Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Walter Tricker and John Ross. The former is now awaiting trial for a similari offence. Ross is described at page 107 of this year’s Police Gazette, and is supposed to be at Ekctahuna, where the animal may have been disposed of. -—'

Supposed stolen between the 10th and 12th instant, at Moengawahine, Kamo, Auckland District, four heifers—two red and white, one roan with white forehead, and one red with light-roan stripes ; also two red-and-white steers ; all branded WL on off rump ; value £ls ; the property of William Lillcy, Purua. Maoris suspected.

Supposed stolen about the end of June last, at Otepopo Ridges, North Otago, 150 cross-bred Lincoln ewes, fullmouthed, branded HH in block on near side, top out of near ear, and half-moon out of off ear; thirty half-bred merino ewes, aged, branded HH in red on near side, half-moon out of off ear; and forty half- and three-quarter bred hoggets, branded HH in red on rump; value about £BO ; the property of Newtown and Co., Waianakarua.
